2 Safety

2.1 Intended Use

The Sunny Tripower Storage 60 is an AC coupled battery
inverter for parallel grid operation. The inverter converts
direct current supplied by a battery into grid-compliant
three-phase alternating current. For operation, the inverter
must be connected to a utility grid and with a permitted
battery. The inverter is not suitable for other applications
(such as operation with PV or wind turbine systems).
The product is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
The product must only be used as stationary equipment.
The inverter may only be used where the nominal voltage of
the inverter matches the grid voltage.
The inverter is not intended to be used in living areas and
cannot provide protection of radio reception against
interference signals in such environments. In accordance
with EN55011:2016, the inverter must only be operated at
operation locations where the distance between the inverter
and radio-communication installations is greater than 30 m
and an own power transformer is used.
The product must only be operated in connection with an
intrinsically safe lithium-ion battery (e.g.
STORAGE-67-TS-10) approved by SMA Solar Technology
AG. The battery must include a separate disconnection
device.
The battery must comply with the locally applicable
standards and directives and must be intrinsically safe.
The communication interface of the battery used must be
compatible with the product. The entire battery voltage
range must be completely within the permissible input
voltage range of the product. The maximum permissible DC
input voltage of the product must not be exceeded.
Use SMA products only in accordance with the information
provided in the enclosed documentation and with the
locally applicable laws, regulations, standards and
directives. Any other application may cause personal injury
or property damage.
Alterations to SMA products, e.g., modifications or
conversions, are only permitted with the express written
permission of SMA Solar Technology AG.

product. Keep the documentation in a convenient, dry place
for future reference and observe all instructions contained
therein.
This document does not replace any regional, state,
provincial, federal or national laws, regulations or
standards that apply to the installation, electrical safety and
use of the product. SMA Solar Technology AG
assumes no responsibility for the compliance or
non-compliance with such laws or codes in connection with
the installation of the product.
The type label must remain permanently attached to the
product.

2.2 Safety Information

Keep the manual for future reference.
This section contains safety information that must be
observed at all times when working.
The product has been designed and tested in accordance
with international safety requirements. As with all electrical
or electronical devices, there are residual risks despite
careful construction. To prevent personal injury and
property damage and to ensure long-term operation of the
product, read this section carefully and observe all safety
information at all times.
Danger to life due to electric shock when live
components or cables of the inverter are touched
High voltages are present in the conductive components
or cables of the inverter. Touching live parts and cables of
the inverter results in death or lethal injuries due to electric
shock.
• Disconnect the product and battery from voltage
sources and make sure it cannot be reconnected
before working on the device.
• Wait five minutes before working on the inverter.
• Observe all safety information of the battery
manufacturer.
• Do not touch non-insulated parts or cables.
• Wear suitable personal protective equipment for all
work on the product.
