Special safety directions
Safety directions for all applications
General safety directions for grinding, sanding, working with wire brushes, poli
shing and cutting off by grinding:
a. This power tool is to be used as a grinder, sander, wire brush, burnisher and
abrasive cutoff machine. Observe all the safety directions, instructions,
illustrations and specifications that you receive with the tool.
Failure to observe the following instructions could result in electric shock, a fire and/
or serious injuries.
b. Do not use accessories which are not specially intended for this power tool and
recommended by the manufacturer.
The fact that you can attach the accessory to this power tool does not guarantee that
it can be used safely.
c. The permissible rotational speed of the insertion tool must be at least as high
as the maximum rotational speed indicated on the power tool.
Accessories that rotate at a speed that is faster than the permissible speed can break
and fly around.
d. The external diameter and thickness of the insertion tool must correspond to
the stated measurements of your power tool.
Incorrectly dimensioned insertion tools cannot be shielded or controlled sufficiently.
e. Replacement tools with a threaded insert must fit exactly on the thread of the
grinding spindle. In the case of insertion tools that are mounted via flange,
the hole diameter of the insertion tool must fit the receptacle diameter of the
flange. Insertion tools that do not fit exactly on the power tool rotate unevenly,
vibrate very strongly and can lead to a loss of control.
f.
Do not use any damaged insertion tools. Before use, check insertion tools such
as grinding disks for signs of parts chipping off and cracks, check grinding
pads for cracks, wear and tear or heavy abrasion, and check wire brushes for
loose or broken wires. If the power tool or the insertion tool falls on the floor,
inspect it for damage or use an undamaged insertion tool. Once you have
checked and inserted the insertion tool, you and people in the vicinity should
stay in a position that is outside of the level of the rotating insertion tool and
allow the tool to operate for a minute at the maximum rotational speed.
Damaged insertion tools generally break during the test period.
