8 Radio-controlled operation (EnOcean)
• Just one slave ventilation unit can be taught-in
on one master. Exception: In systems with PP
45 RC and PPB 30 RC unit pairs, the additional
teaching-in of the PPB 30 RC into the PP 45
RC master is possible.
• No presettings are needed for master-slave op-
eration.
• A ventilation unit automatically becomes a mas-
ter if the master unit is set to receive mode
and a teach-in telegram is received from a
slave unit.
• A ventilation unit becomes a slave unit if this
slave transmits a teach-in telegram to the
master unit and the master confirms it.
• If a master unit receives a valid teach-in tele-
gram from an EnOcean component that has
not yet been taught in, the data is evaluated
and stored.
• Set values are transferred from the master to
the slave in cycles, e.g. ventilation level, operat-
ing mode and sensor measurements. Data,
timer and changeover times are also trans-
ferred in cycles and the transfer confirmed.
• If the master does not receive a response from
the slave unit within a defined time, the unit pair
affected switches to fault.
• If the slave unit doesn't receive cyclic queries
from the master, it switches to fault. The faults
are displayed using LED flash code → Faults,
rectification [} 66].

8.6.2 Teaching-in unit pairs

Determine a pair of devices, then teach the
slave ventilation unit into the master, then
teach-in the radio switch and radio sensors.
1. Remove the front cover on the ventilation
units.
2. Switch the master ventilation unit (receiver)
into teach-in mode To do so, press the
TEACH button on the master for 2 seconds.
All 3 LEDs flash, teach-in mode is activated.
ð Now, a teach-in telegram must be received
within 120 seconds or the teach-in mode is
terminated.
3. Activate the teach-in mode on the slave vent-
ilation unit (transmitter). Press the TEACH
button here for 2 seconds. All 3 LEDs flash.
4. Switch slave unit into send-teach mode. To
do this, press TEACH button briefly 1x. The 3
LEDs on the slave flash once and then switch
off (periodic process).

5. Press TEACH button on the slave (> 2
seconds) until the LEDs on the slave briefly
light up once and then go out.
ð The teach-in telegram is sent.
When a teach-in telegram is correctly re-
ceived, teach-in mode is exited by the receiver
and transmitter. If the master unit is still in
teach-in mode (3 LEDs flashing), the teach-in
telegram from the slave unit has not arrived →
Repeat process.
6. Before putting on the front cover of the PP 45
RC, the shutter must always be open. To do
this, switch on the PP 45 RC.
7. Fit front cover for internal housing on the units
such that it locks into the safety catches.
8. Run function test.

8.6.3 Teaching-in DS 45 RC radio switch

1. Remove the front cover on the master unit.
2. Switch the master ventilation unit (receiver)
into teach-in mode. To do so, press the
teach-in button on the master for 2 seconds.
All 3 LEDs flash, teach-in mode is activated.
3. Press Ventilation level rocker switch 1x.
The teach-in telegram is sent. Both buttons
are now taught-in. Once teaching-in has been
successfully completed, TEACH mode is ex-
ited.
4. Before putting on the front cover, the shutter
must always be open. To do this, briefly
switch on the master unit.
5. Fit front cover for internal housing on the mas-
ter unit such that it locks into the safety
catches.
6. Run function test.

8.6.4 Teaching-in radio sensor

1. Remove the front cover on the master unit.
2. Switch the master unit (receiver) to teach-in
mode. To do so, press the TEACH button on
the master for 2 seconds. All 3 LEDs flash,
teach-in mode is activated.
3. Send a teach-in telegram with the radio
sensor → Operating instructions of radio
sensor. Once teaching-in has been success-
fully completed, TEACH mode is exited.
4. Before putting on the front cover, the shutter
must always be open. To do this, briefly switch
on the master unit.
5. Fit front cover on the master unit such that it
locks into the safety catches.
