7 Operating ventilation unit(s)
With the PPB 30 RC device variant, the oper-
ating mode (service mode) selected for the
optional pushbutton can also be carried out
with the DS 45 RC radio pushbutton.

7.9 Deactivating ventilation level "0"

The Off function (ventilation level 0) can be deac-
tivated by the specialist installer. This ensures a
permanent basic level of ventilation to avoid dam-
age from mould, for example. For more informa-
tion → Commissioning instructions.

7.10 Control unit's LED display

The LEDs are dimmed after 5 minutes to save en-
ergy. To switch back to normal operation, simply
press a key. The LED display can be set using
the commissioning software of the RLS 45 K con-
trol (function cannot be set in service mode).
7.11 Sleep mode with ventilation
level 0
For ventilation units on RLS 45 O: Function not
available.
For ventilation units on RLS 45 KRLS 45 K, DS
45 RC: Function available.
All ventilation units connected to a room air con-
trol are switched off for 60 minutes (parameters
can be adjusted). For details of operation → Op-
erating keys, displays, LEDs [} 46].
Sleep mode can also be switched on/off using an
optional button connected to the 230 V input of
the RLS 45 K control. The 230 VAC input must
be set to the sleep mode function → Commission-
ing software.
Sleep mode is not available for ventilation
units connected to the power units.
If any button on the control is pressed during
sleep mode, the ventilation units switch back to
the ventilation level used previously.
7.12 Intermittent ventilation with
ventilation level 5
For ventilation units on RLS 45 O: Function not
available.
For ventilation units on RLS 45 K, DS 45 RC:
Function available.
All ventilation units, connected to a room air con-
trol, run for 30 minutes (parameter can be ad-
justed) at ventilation level 5 (intensive ventila-
tion). For details of operation → Operating keys,
displays, LEDs [} 46].

Intermittent ventilation can also be activated with
an optional button connected to the 230 V input of
the RLS 45 K control. The 230 VAC input must
be set to the intermittent ventilation function →
Commissioning software.
The intermittent ventilation is not available
for ventilation units connected to the power
units.
If any button on the control is pressed during in-
termittent ventilation, the ventilation units switch
back to the ventilation level used previously.

7.13 External OFF function

For ventilation units on RLS 45 O, DS 45 RC:
Function not available.
For ventilation units on RLS 45 K: Function
available.
This function can be used to switch off all the
ventilation system's ventilation units.
The External OFF function is switched using an
optional, central on/off switch connected to the
control's 230 V input. The switch must be re-
gistered for the External OFF function when in
service mode, parameter 230 VAC input → com-
missioning instructions.
The External OFF function impacts on all the
components integrated in the ventilation sys-
tem.
With RLS 45 K+PP 45 EO combinations, the
External Off function is also carried out by the
PP 45 RC/PPB 30 RC units integrated via the
PP 45 EO.
7.14 Volumetric flow compensation
in supply air mode for exhaust air
units
For ventilation units on RLS 45 O, DS 45 RC:
Function not available.
For ventilation units on RLS 45 K: Function for
PP 45 O / PP 45 K or PPB 30 O units if they are
jointly connected to the fan interface (Fan1/Fan2).
Use this function for the ER/ECA combina-
tion of exhaust air fans with pure PP 45 sys-
tems or ER/ECA combinations with PPB 30 O
units.
Only single-type PP 45– or PPB 30 O- systems
are permitted at the fan interface (Fan1/Fan2)
of the RLS 45 K.
