8.1.2 Positioning of wall sleeve

NOTICE
Installation position, interior wall: Once the
plaster has been applied or wallpaper put up etc.,
the wall sleeve must end flush with the interior
wall.
Installation position, exterior wall: Wall sleeve
must protrude beyond the exterior plaster after
this plaster has been applied. Observe the follow-
ing wall sleeve projections towards the exterior
wall! The projection is needed as a drip edge
within the external cover.

8.1.3 Installation of wall sleeve

NOTICE: Unit damage and damage to brick-
work caused by condensate in the event of in-
correct installation where condensate runs to-
wards the interior wall if the core hole is
drilled at too slight an incline. Mount wall
sleeve with an incline of 1...2 % to the exterior
wall so that any condensation which collects
can drain outwards. Observe the wall sleeve
projection towards the exterior wall!
WARNING Risk of injury if a wall sleeve
or external/internal cover come loose. Only
mount on walls with sufficient load-bearing
capacity. The wall sleeve must be firmly
plastered in. With PP 45 AKR/AKB, ensure se-
cure locking in the sleeve.
1. Determine installation location(s). Observe in-
stallation dimensions and minimum spacing to
the wall and ceiling. Fit empty tube/cable feed-
through.
2. Drill core hole. Observe inclines of 1 to 2 %
towards the exterior wall. Recommendation:
Drill DN 182 and align the DN 160 wall sleeve
with polystyrene shims to an incline of 1 to
2 %.
3. Shorten wall sleeve. Observe the wall sleeve
projection towards the exterior wall! Specifica-
tions for internal and exterior wall fully
plastered.
4. Deburr wall sleeve on both sides.
5. Place wall sleeve in core hole such that it pro-
trudes beyond the exterior wall. Observe the
wall sleeve projection towards the exterior
wall!
6. Close off wall sleeve on both sides with the
plaster protective covers provided.
7. For a DN 162 core hole, fix the wall sleeve
with mounting adhesive in the core hole.
8. For a DN 182 core hole, align wall sleeve and
fix on inside and outside with shims provided.
CAUTION Exercise caution when hand-
ling construction foam.
Wear protective gloves and goggles.
9. For a DN 182 core hole, fix the wall sleeve
and shim with non-compressing or zero-ex-
pansion construction foam. Cut off protruding
construction foam and shims flush with the
wall.
