Basic working techniques

Always ensure you have a safe and stable working
position.
Always use both hands to hold the machine. Hold the
machine at the side of your body.
Make sure that your hands and feet do not come near
the brush when the engine is running.
When the motor is switched off, keep your hands and
feet away from the brush until it has stopped
completely.
Always slow the engine to idle speed after each
working operation. Long periods at full throttle without
any load on the engine (i.e. without the resistance that
the cutting attachment exerts on the engine when you
are using the machine) can lead to serious engine
damage.
If heavy vibration occurs, stop the machine.
Disconnect the HT lead from the spark plug. Check
that the machine is not damaged. Repair any damage.
WARNING! Watch out for thrown objects.
!
Always wear eye protection. Never bend
over the brush drum. Stones, rubbish,
etc. can be thrown up into the eyes
causing blindness or serious injury.
Keep unauthorised persons at a
distance. Children, animals, onlookers
and helpers should be kept outside the
safety zone of 15 m. (50 ft.) Stop the
machine immediately if anyone
approaches. The gear can get hot during
use and may remain so for a while
afterwards. You could get burnt if you
touch it.
Run the machine at full gas (or nearly full gas) with the
brush resting on the surface.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE!
It is both tiring and unnecessary to lift or hold the brush
above the surface when working.
When clearing narrow surfaces such as paths, the
machine can be used so that it throws materials
straight in front of you. If you want to work on wider
surfaces, you may need to work at an angle so that
strands form on one side. Strands comprising light
materials can be collected into one row or pile for later
removal while hard or more bulky materials may need
collecting in several strands.
In order to get into corners, remove the splash guard and
loosen the accessory coupling and rotate the accessory
half a turn.
WARNING! Rubbish will then be thrown
!
back towards the user. Use a lower speed
when reversing the machine and
remember that it is easy to trip over
materials that are thrown out.
