These bandsaws are professional power tools.
DO NOT let children come into contact with the tool. Supervision is
required when inexperienced operators use this tool.
• This product is not intended for use by persons (including children)
suffering from diminished physical, sensory or mental abilities; lack
of experience, knowledge or skills unless they are supervised by
a person responsible for their safety. Children should never be left
alone with this product.

Electrical Safety

The electric motor has been designed for one voltage only. Always
check that the power supply corresponds to the voltage on the rating
plate.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a specially
prepared cord available through the D
Mains Plug Replacement
(U.K. & Ireland Only)
SINGLE-PHASE ONLY
If a new mains plug needs to be fitted:
• Safely dispose of the old plug.
• Connect the brown lead to the live terminal in the new plug.
• Connect the blue lead to the neutral terminal.
• Connect the green/yellow lead to the earth terminal
WARNING: Follow the fitting instructions supplied with
good quality plugs. Recommended fuse: 13 A.
Using an Extension Cable
If an extension cable is required, use an approved 3–core extension
cable suitable for the power input of this tool (see Technical Data).The
minimum conductor size is 1.5 mm
is 30 m.
When using a cable reel, always unwind the cable completely.

ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENT

WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury, turn unit off
and disconnect machine from power source before
installing and removing accessories, before adjusting
or changing set-ups or when making repairs. Be sure
the trigger switch is in the OFF position. An accidental start-
up can cause injury.
The machine is fully assembled except for the table and rip fence.

Installing the Machine

To ensure safe operation, the machine has always to be mounted to the
workbench or to the ground. Use diameter 8 mm bolts with 100 mm
length.
1. Mark the position of the four mounting holes provided in the base
of the machine on the workbench (p, fig. 1).
2. Place the machine on the workbench and insert the proposed bolts
through the mounting holes into the workbench.
Mounting the Table (fi g. 1, 4A–4F)
1. Turn the table tilt locking lever (i in fig. 1) counterclockwise
approximately half a turn to release the tilt segments (aa in fig. 4B).
2. Swing back the connecting plate (z) which covers the blade slot in
the table (fig. 4A).
3. Place the table onto the segments (aa) with the blade slot pointing
to the front of the machine (fig. 4B).
4. Carefully guide the table along the saw blade and align the holes in
the table with those in the segments.
5. Insert one hex bolt M8 x 20 (bb) with washer into the two front
holes and fasten them hand-tight (fig. 4C).
6. Tilt the table to a 45° angle.
7. Insert one hex bolt M8 x 20 (bb) with washer into the two rear
holes (fig. 4D).
8. Tighten all four bolts using the box spanner.
9. Press the table insert (d) into place (fig. 4E).

10. Swing the connecting plate (z) back into place (fig. 4A).
11. Completely raise the blade guard (c) by turning the height adjuster
(k) clockwise (fig. 1).
12. Use a set square to check that the table is at a right angle to the
saw blade when in the horizontal position. If adjustment is needed,
loosen the table tilt locking lever and adjust the grub screw (cc) as
required (fig. 4F).
Mounting the Bandsaw Blade
(fi g. 1, 2, 4A, 4E, 5A–5D)
WARNING: The teeth of a new blade are very sharp and
can be dangerous.
1. Unscrew the two cover retention bolts (h) with box spanner to open
the hinged door (fig. 1).
2. Swing back the connecting plate (z) which covers the blade slot in
the table (fig. 4A).
3. Remove the table insert (d).
4. Guide the blade through the blade slot in the table. Make sure that
the teeth point to the front of the machine and downwards in the
working area (fig. 5B).
5. Carefully insert the blade into the blade guard slot (dd) while turning
it for 90° (fig. 5C & 5D)
6. Position the blade between the guide blocks (s) and (u).
7. Move the blade around the band wheels (ee) and (ff) (fig. 5B).
If necessary, lower the upper band wheel by turning the blade
tension adjuster (f, fig. 5B) counterclockwise.
8. Mount the table insert (d) (fig. 4E).
9. Swing the connecting plate (z) back into place (fig. 4A).
10. Adjust the blade tension, the guide blocks and the support
bearings as described below.
WARNING: Be aware the bandsaw blade shall be replaced
in the described way only. Do never fit other bandsaw blade
dimensions as specified under Technical Data.
Adjusting the Blade Tension (fi g. 6A)
The correct tension depends on the width of the blade used. Refer to
the table on the machine.
Adjust the blade tension using the blade tension adjuster (f) until the
scale indicates the tension corresponding to the blade width.
Adjusting the Blade Position (fi g. 1, 6B & 6C)
The blade must be centred on the rim of the band wheels.
1. Open the hinged cover as described above.
2. While rotating the upper band wheel with one hand, slightly rotate
the blade centring adjuster (g) with the other (fig. 1, 6C).
WARNING: Do not touch the blade but rotate the upper
band wheel with your finger on one of the spokes.
Adjusting the Blade Guide Blocks and Rear
Support Bearings (fi g. 2, 7A–7C)
During the sawing operation, the blade is exposed to frontal and lateral
forces. The rear support bearings (q) are positioned 0.5 mm behind the
blade to control the blade front-to-back movement. The 45° and 90°
guide blocks are positioned 0.1 mm from the blade to control the lateral
blade position.
1. Remove the table insert and tilt the table to 45°.
2. Slacken the grub screws (r) and position the rear support bearings
(q) away from the blade (fig. 7A).
3. Adjust the knurled knob (gg) to position the blade guide blocks just
behind the blade teeth (fig. 7A).
4. Position the rear support bearings (q) 0.5 mm behind the blade and
tighten the grub screws (r) (fig. 7A).
5. Slacken the grub screws (t) and (v) and insert the blade guide
blocks (s) and (u) in the holders (fig. 7A).
6. Set the guide blocks to a distance of approx. 0.1 mm from the
blade.
7. Tighten the grub screws (t) and (v) (fig. 7A).
