3. Installation

Before putting the double containment valve into operation, the following 4 steps are
required to install the CONTAIN-IT Plus ball valve:

Step 1: Valve mounting

Make sure the ball valve is in the "OPEN" position (Fig. 1)!
First the inner pipe of the ball valve is joined with the inner pipe of the double containment
pipe system. It is important to abide by the waiting times after fusion or cementing as
indicated in the chapter on "Jointing Technology" in the Planning Fundamentals. When
jointing of the inner pipe has been completed, the pressure testing must be done. Please
make the necessary preparations as described in Step 2 prior to pressure testing. When
these preparations have been made, pressure testing may begin according to the
instructions in Step 3.
The best assembly position is horizontal.
