8.1 Limitations to operation

The performance of the modules should always be
kept within the recommended flow and pressure
ranges of each individual module:
Recommended flows at 25°C (~ 77°F)
Type
[m³/h]
BMQ 1 / BMQE-NE 1
0.5-1.6
BMQ 2 / BMQE-NE 2

BMQ 5 / BMQE-NE 5
2.0-7.0
BMQ 7 / BMQE-NE 7
2.0-9.0
Note: The pump dry-running protection is effective
only within the recommended duty range of the
pump.

8.2 Built-in protection

The motor incorporates an electronic unit which pro-
tects the motor in various situations.
• In case of overload, the built-in overload protec-
tion will stop the booster module for 5 minutes.
After that period, the booster module will attempt
to restart.
• If started without water (dry running), the booster
module will stop after 30 seconds.
• If stopped as a result of dry running, the booster
module will start automatically after 5 minutes.
To reset the booster module, switch off the electricity
supply for 1 minute.
8
The motor is protected in case of:
• dry running,
• voltage surges (up to 5000 V),
• overvoltage,
• undervoltage,
• overload and
US GPM
• overtemperature.
2.2-7.04

9. Checking of operation

3.5-13.2
Depending on the number of operating hours of the
4.4-17.6
booster modules, the following should be checked at
8.8-30.8
suitable intervals:
8.8-39.0
• Flow.
• Starting frequency.
• Control and protective devices.
• Liquid temperature.
• Minimum flow through the modules during opera-
tion.
Outlet
If any of the above checks reveal any abnormal
pressure
operating details, inspection should be carried out in
accordance with the fault finding chart in section 11.

10. Service

For the replacement and repair of parts of the
34
492
booster unit, please refer to:
1. Service manual for SQ/SQE describing replace-
ment of motor cable and motor.
2. Parts list for SQ/SQE with instructions for dis-
mantling and assembly of pump and motor.
3. If an SQ standard pump is used in connection
with service of the booster unit, the non-return
valve must be removed before the pump is fitted
in the sleeve, see section 10.1 Removal of non-
return valve.
Minimum
Note: The SQE-NE is supplied without non-re-
flow
turn valve.

10.1 Removal of non-return valve

[m³/h /
If a pump without non-return valve is required, the
US GPM]
valve can be removed as follows:
≥ 0.8 / 3.5
1. Cut off the legs of the valve guide using side-cut-
≥ 0.5 / 2.2
ting pliers or a similar tool, see fig. 7.
2. Turn the pump upside down.
3. Check that all loose parts fall out of the pump.
