2.1

Proper Use

Installation and startup are to be performed only by trained specialists having fundamental knowledge of electronics.
A trained specialist is someone whose technical training, knowledge and experience as well as familiarity with the
relevant regulations enable him to assess the work assigned to him, recognize possible hazards and take appropriate
safety measures.
The operator is responsible for ensuring that local safety regulations are observed. In particular, the operator must
take measures to ensure that a defect in the sensor will not result in hazards to persons or equipment.
When defects and non-clearable faults occur in the sensor, take it out of service and secure against unauthorized
use.
2.2

Safety Precautions

– Read this manual completely and follow the instructions contained in it.
– This temperature sensor must not be used in applications in which the safety of persons is dependent on the
function of the device (not a safety component according to the EU Machinery Directive).
– Observe the accident prevention regulations and locally prevailing legal provisions.
– Only specialist personnel are allowed to perform installation, connection and startup.
– The technical data must be observed!
– Protect the sensor from moisture and contamination while connecting, during startup and operation.
– Continuously protect the sensor from mechanical effects such as impacts and vibrations.
– Keep the receiving optics clean.

Use in Explosion Hazard Areas
