Then edit the corresponding 'phone book entry'. On the 'Server' tab the server type
must remain set to 'PPP: Windows NT, Windows 95 Plus, Internet'. The 'Activate
LCP Extensions for PPP' option must be enabled. Activate 'TCP/IP' and 'IPX', if
required, as valid network protocols (i.e. if you would like to grant access to a Novell
server). NetBIOS remains unchecked for this example.
k Another click takes you to 'TCP/IP Settings'. Let the server assign the IP address and
name server address. Normally, you do not need to change these settings.
Select the 'Accept any validity verification (incl. unencrypted)' option on the
'Security' tab.

Depending on which Setup wizard you ran, your router may not have received a name yet.
While a name is not absolutely necessary for some functions, it is advisable to help you
maintain an overview of your equipment.
What's more, the subscriber numbers to which the router should respond have not been
defined. The device will thus accept incoming calls for any number. The router will
function correctly in this state. However, it will also answer calls not intended for it. We
thus recommend that you assign subscriber numbers.
