Attachments

The SIEMOSYN-motors 1FU8 can be supplied with the following specified attachments as mounted and tested drive
unit.
Possible combinations:
a) SIEMOSYN-motor 1FU8 with spring-operated brake 2LM8
b) SIEMOSYN-motor 1FU8 with Demag transmission (with/without brake 2LM8)
c) SIEMOSYN-motor 1FU8 with frequency converter Micromaster MM411 (with/without brake 2LM8)
d) SIEMOSYN-motor 1FU8 with Demag-transmission and with frequency converter Micromaster MM411
(with/without brake 2LM8)

The operating instructions for motors 1FU8 plus the operating instructions of the appropriate attachments are enclosed
with the deliveries.
The specifications and instructions in the operating instructions are absolutely to be adhered to by the
operator.
The drive units are supplied mounted and tested. The frequency converters MM411 are pre-programmed in accordance
with the rating plate data of the motors, a necessary fine adjustment has to be made on site, if necessary.

Inspection, maintenance

Caution! Execute all works only when the machine is in dead state.
Particulary consider with maintenance: the terminals of the motors are energized as long
as the rotor rotates. Touching the terminals is thus also highly dangerous with motor
switched off from the mains and coming to a stop.
Thermal hazard from hot surfaces!
The surface temperatures of the motors can reach over 100 °C.
Do not touch hot surfaces!
Protection must be provided against accidental contact if necessary.Temperaturesensitive
components (electric lines, electronic components) must not touch hot surfaces.

8.1 General

Execute cleaning depending upon local contamination degree in order to ensure a sufficient conduct of the heat losses.
- The SIEMOSYN-motors are in the same manner safe to operate and less maintenance-prone as standard AC
motors. The permanent magnets are in installed status, insensitive against shock, impact and aging.
- The rotor of a SIEMOSYN-motor can be disassembled, the magnets can withstand open magnetic circuit and stored
in the open. The rotor sticks in the stator by means of the installed permanent magnets during installation and
removal. Protect the rotor in disassembled status against contamination by magnetic wastes (plastic bag).
Caution: Risk of injury:
Protect open stored rotors against striking together or striking against metal parts (rotors
are magnetic).
In the proximity of a disassembled rotor, persons with cardiac pacemakers are endangered.
