- Tightening torques for other screwed connetions (see fig. 5.2).
- Tightening torques for screw connections (see fig. 5.1)
NOTE: If the openings for cable and wires are closed with a "cast iron skin" (break out) in the terminal box, then this
is to be removed with a suitable tool (see fig.4). Ensure that the terminal box, terminal board, cable connections... in
the interior of the terminal box are not damaged!
Screw connections for cable and wires (see fig.4). In case of PTC-resistor connection, a reducing adapter must be
screwed in.
4.4 Oscillations, balance
Pay attention to the general necessary measures for the protection of accidental contact of
the drive elements. If a motor is taken into operation without drive element, then the feather
key is to be secured against throwing out.
- the rotors are balanced with half feather keys according to standard. Pay attention to the appropriate type of balance
with assembly of the drive element.
- the drive elements are to be balanced in accordance with ISO 1940!
- when balancing with half feather key the protruding visible spring key portion T
- the oscillation behaviour of the system at the place of application is influenced by drive elements, mounting
conditions, alignment, installation and external oscillations. Thus the oscillating values of the motor can change.
- the imitated oscillations in installed status may not exceed accelerations of 2 g.
- an exact alignment of the coupling as well as a well balanced drive element (coupling, belt pulley, godets,...) are
prerequesite for a smooth, oscillation-poor run. A complete balance of the motor with the drive element can be
necessary.

4.5 Installing, removing of drive elements

- do not strike the shaft and bearing of the motors.
For the fitting on of drive elements (coupling, toothed wheel, belt pulley etc.), use thread in the shaft end and warm up
– if possible – drive elements as required.
Use suitable tool for removing. No impacts may be transferred when fitting on or removing (e.g. with hammer or
something similar) or larger radial or axial forces via the shaft end onto the motor bearing according to the bearing
manufacturer (s.fig.8).

5 Electrical connection

Before commencement of each work at the motor or device, particularly however before the
opening of covers of active sections, the motor must be disconnected and stopped acc.
to regulations. Apart of the main electrical circuits it must be also to be paid attention to
the possible available additional or auxiliary circuits.
- danger of surge
- if the rotor rotates, there is voltage on the motor clamps!
- use only qualified specialists for assembly works,
- the regulations for works in electrotechnical systems are absolutely to be adhered to,
acc. to DIN VDE 0105 e.g.:
+ disconnecting
+ protect against restarting
+ ensure dead circuit
+ earth and short-circuit
+ cover or/and barrier neighbouring energized sections
+ check motor for standstill
