IP HYDRUS OILS
IP Hydrus Oils, a series consisting of several grades for different applications, are solvent-refined mineral oils with high
viscosity index and a carefully balanced and diversified additive package able to provide the best performance within
the specific field of application of individual grades.
The whole series features excellent antioxidant, anticorrosion and demulsibility properties; in addition, grades
normally intended for use in hydraulic systems and covering the viscosity range recommended by the major pump
manufacturers have high antiwear properties.
These antiwear properties are also featured, to a suitable extent, by fluid grades for spindle lubrication.

MAIN PROPERTIES
IP Hydrus Oils, in the grades normally intended for hydraulic systems, feature marked antiwear properties.
IP Hydrus Oils can therefore reduce wear in the critical components of hydraulic systems (particularly vane
pumps, gears, hydraulic pistons and motors), that in modern equipment may work under extremely severe
conditions and even under boundary lubrication conditions.
These properties thus ensure best performance and a long service life to the hydraulic systems.
IP Hydrus Oils possess a high viscosity index, resulting in limited viscosity change even in the presence of marked
temperature changes.
This ensures, in particular, proper and regular operation of hydraulic systems, preventing the occurrence of
troubles such as seal leakage, power losses, cavitation and others.
IP Hydrus Oils also have a low pour point which makes them suitable for use at low temperatures, thus facilitating
cold starting.
Owing to this property, combined with the high viscosity index and the excellent resistance to oxidation, these
oils may be used over a wider temperature range.
They also possess marked anticorrosion properties with regard to metals commonly used in hydraulic systems
(and in other circulation systems), even in the presence of water or humidity.
These properties prevent rusting and corrosion of such components as pumps, valves, cylinders and pistons, etc.,
thus ensuring high performance and low maintenance costs.
These two properties prevent the occurrence of troubles connected with excessive foaming and aeration which,
by inducing intolerable compressibility in the oil, may cause erratic system operation.
IP Hydrus Oils are compatible with the most widely used oil-resistant seal materials, particularly in hydraulic
systems.
FIELD OF APPLICATION
IP Hydus Oils are specifically designed for use in hydraulic systems. However, as already mentioned, they can provide
effective performance in the wider field of application concerning additive-type oils for pressure circulating systems.
The following is a brief description of IP Hydrus Oils grades and relevant fields of application.
