1)
Once all the mechanical and electrical parts of the automation have been firmly connected, start the barrier manually with the
relative release key.
2)
With power off, adjust the two bolts that regulate the opening and closing stop.
3)
Check arm balance is correct: by positioning it at 45-50° it should remain balanced.
4)
Power the barrier by means of the release key.
5)
Set the 3 trimmers at half-way travel.
6)
The useful travel learning phase is done by storing the impulses received by the encoder mounted on the driving shaft.
ATTENTION: during this phase do not, under any circumstances, obstruct the travel of the barrier and, seeing as the safety
devices will not trip, make certain there are no vehicles or people moving around in the vicinity!
Turn Dip 8 on and press the red ST button; the barrier closes until it reaches the mechanical stop and then opens again
1)
completely. If, after you pressed button ST, the barrier opens instead of closing, turn power off and reverse the motor's fastons
and then repeat this programming step.
2a)
If, after the barrier has opened completely you immediately press the red ST button, the barrier closes again and the pause
time will not be learnt. This means the barrier will not close again automatically during normal operation and you will have to
give it the necessary command.
2b)
If, after the barrier has opened completely, you wait for the SCA LED to turn on with a 1 second intermittence, it will learn a
pause time equivalent to the number of flashes emitted until the red ST button is pressed again which will close the barrier.
3)
Now turn Dip 8 off and check that the barrier is working properly.
4)
Adjust average and approaching speeds with the trimmers and, if necessary, adjust the mechanical stops.
P1 "TORQUE": It adjusts the useful torque supplied to the motor and hence encoder sensitivity to the obstacle when closing. The torque
supplied increases rotation in the clockwise direction and therefore sensitivity to the obstacle is reduced.
Adjust torque in operation so that the force of impact does not exceed the limits laid down by standards EN12445 and EN12453.
P2 "SPEED'": It adjusts the average manoeuvre speed from 3.5 to 8 sec.
We recommend setting a fast manoeuvre speed for arms up to 4m, beyond this adjust times of 6-8 seconds with P2.
P3 "SLOW.": It adjusts approaching speed at the end of the manoeuvre from 20 to 70% of the average speed set with trimmer P2.
Approaching speed increases by turning the trimmer clockwise.
A battery charger can be plugged into connector J5 on the control unit to keep two 12V 2.2Ah storage batteries charged, connected in
series. They will keep the barrier working for about 50 cycles in complete safety whenever there is a power failure.
If there is a power failure, the flashing light indicates with two flashes yes and with one no that the barrier is working in a black-out.
The battery charger features a minimum residual charge detector that will allow the last useful manoeuvre of the barrier to be carried
out when battery voltage drops too much, thus keeping them efficient at all times.
It is, however, good practice for a specialized technician to check battery efficiency once a year, simulating a black-out.
Installation of this kit is very simple:
1) With mains power off, remove the 10A fuse and plug the battery charger into connector J5 "CHARGE BAT".
2) Fix the two batteries on the omega bracket with the bolts.
3) Connect the strap's cable terminal - supplied - to the screw terminal on the battery charger , observing polarities: +red and -black.
4) Fit the two strap fastons on the positive of the first battery and on the negative of the second respectively.
5) Jumper between the + and - poles left free on the batteries with the black wire.
6) Restore the 10A fuse. Caution: the barrier is now powered!
7) Restore mains voltage.
8) Check correct operation with the batteries by simulating a black-out and considering that possible reductions in speed are normal
because the batteries can be considered 100% efficient only after 4 hours of charging.
