6. CONNECTION TO ThE VOLTagE SOurCE

Before connecting the inverter and taking it into operation, read the entire operating
instructions; specifically observe the chapter "Safety Notes".
• Check if the input voltage indicated on the inverter matches the voltage of the cigarette
lighter socket used by you.
Also observe that the polarity of the cigarette lighter plug matches that of the cigarette lighter
socket used. The middle contact of the cigarette lighter plug is the plus pole (+), the outer
contact is the minus pole (-).
If this is not the case, the inverter must not be connected to the cigarette lighter socket.
• After the above inspection, plug the cigarette lighter plug of the inverter into the cigarette
lighter socket completely to the stop.
• The inverter is now ready for operation, the "Power" LED must be lit.
For most vehicles, voltage is only applied to the cigarette lighter socket when the igni-
tion of the vehicle is switched on.
The connection cable with cigarette lighter plug is firmly installed to the inverter. If
an extension cable is used, it must have a sufficiently sized line cross-section. If
the line cross-section is too small, the connection cable may grow hot. There is a
danger of fire!
very strong overheating may also cause a defect to the insulation of the connection
cable, which may cause short circuit. There is a risk of explosion by the recharge-
able battery.
The following applies: The larger the line cross-section and the shorter the cable,
the lower the voltage drop on the line.
A too-high voltage drop on the line may cause premature undervoltage deactivation
of the inverter.
Secure or attach the inverter and all cables, e.g. when using them in a vehicle, so
that proper operation of the vehicle is ensured and the inverter cannot come loose.
