Dewing protection
Dewing of the devices has to be avoided by taking system-related measures.
Dewing occurs if the inlet temperature of the coolant is much lower than the room
temperature (air temperature). Depending on the relative humidity of the room air,
the temperature difference between coolant and air may be higher or lower. The
air temperature at which the water phase precipitates from the air is called dew
point.
The table below shows the dew points (in °C) for an atmospheric pressure of 1
bar (≈ altitude 0...500 m). If the coolant temperature ranges below these values,
dewing has to be expected, i.e. the coolant temperature always has to be ≥ dew
point temperature.
