16 Troubleshooting

Error messages
Error messages displayed by the QuikRead go instrument are listed below. For more de-
tailed information on error messages, consult the QuikRead go instrument instructions for
use.

Unexpected low and high results
Possible reasons for unexpected low and high results are listed in the table below.

Corrective actions
Check that the cuvette has a reagent cap and the
inner light violet part of the cap is not pressed down.
Discard the test. Perform a new test with new components.
Make sure that cuvettes and caps are from the same kit
lot.
Check from the cap tube that the cap is from the same kit
than the cuvette. If the cap and cuvette are from the same
lot, and the sample collector has not been over 5 minutes
in the cuvette, you can continue the measurement. If
lots are not the same, cancel the measurement, discard
the test and perform a new test. Make sure that all the
reagents are from the same kit lot.
Let the cuvette warm up to room temperature (18...25°C).
Perform a new test with new componets.
Let the cuvette cool down to room temperature (18...25°C).
Perform a new test with new componets.
Perform a new test. There has been some problem with
the reaction temperature.
Perform a new test. There has been some problem
with the reagents. If this error message appears again,
please make sure that the HbA1c reagent caps have not
been exposed to humidity. Also ensure that the reagent
cap tube is properly closed.
Perform a new test. There has been a problem with the
sample. Ensure that the test has been done according the
instructions. The test cannot be completed if hemoglobin in
the sample is out of the range (< 60 g/l).
Corrective action
Perfom a new test. Sample can be stored
max. 1 minute in the sample collector.
Perform a new test. Take the sample by placing
the tip of the sample collector just beneath the
surface of the blood and fill the capillary part
completely. Check that the sample collector is
completely filled and there are no air bubbles in
the capillary part. Ensure that there is no blood on
the plastic frame of the sample collector and the
sample has been taken just beneath the surface
of the blood. Do not wipe the sample collector.
Perform a new test. Use QuikRead go Sample
Collector 1µl for transfering the sample into the
cuvette. Do not use pipette or other sampling
apparatus.
Perform a new test. Make sure that all the
reagents are from the same kit lot.
