7 Setting into Operation

1) Switch on the connected monitor and align the
camera to the surveillance area.
2) Adjust the distance on the lens. In case of a lens
with manually adjustable iris, adjust the iris to opti-
mum picture reproduction (depth of focus and
brightness).
3) If the picture is not in focus with correctly adjusted
distance, make a focus presetting with the ad-
justing wheel (11).
4) For all further adjustments call the on-screen
menu.
7.1 Main menu 1 (fig. 2)
The following functions can be adjusted here:
Day/night switching
Electronic shutter
Control range of the AGC
Synchronization
Backlight compensation
White balance
and the submenu ALC/ELC can be called.
By means of a thin object keep the button Enter (4)
pressed for approx. 2 seconds until the main menu 1 is
displayed on the monitor (fig. 2). The menu item NEXT
is selected (flashes) in the lower line, i. e. the main
menu 2 can be called with the button Enter.
7.1.1 Main menu 1, lines D/N MODE to ALC/ELC
1) With the button
which an adjustment is to be changed.
2) D/N MODE switching of day and night operation
Press the button Enter (4) so many times until the
desired mode is displayed:
AUTO The camera automatically switches
between day operation (colour reproduction)
and night operation (black and white repro-
duction).
COLOR Fixed adjustment of the day opera-
tion.
MONO Fixed adjustment of the night opera-
tion.
After the adjustment has been made, select the
next menu line with the button
3) D/N LEVEL Threshold for the switching-over
from night to day operation
Select with the button Enter:
HIGH The camera switches from night to day
operation at brighter light than for adjustment
LOW.
LOW The camera switches from night to day
operation already at lower light than for adjust-
ment HIGH.
Select the next menu line with the button
4) ALC/ELC After selecting this line, call the sub-
menu ALC/ELC (fig. 3) with the button Enter for
adjusting the iris control and the dynamic control.

7.1.2 Submenu ALC/ELC (fig. 3)
This menu serves for adjusting the iris control and the
dynamic control.
1) With the button
which the adjustment is to be changed.
2) ALC/ELC switching between automatic iris con-
trol and electronic shutter
Select with the Enter button:
ALC when using a lens with automatic iris
control (AI lens)
ELC when using a lens with manual iris
adjustment. In the line SHUTTER of the main
menu 1 select between automatic and manual
shutter time adjustments (chapter 7.1.3, op-
erating step 2). For the adjustment ELC the
menu lines WD LEVEL, WD CONTRAST,
LENS, and LEVEL will disappear because
these functions will not be available in this
case. Continue with operating step 8.
3) WD extended dynamic range (wide dynamic)
Select with the button Enter:
OFF The wide dynamic function is switched
off. DISABLE will be displayed in the menu
lines WD LEVEL and WD CONTRAST, i. e.
these functions are not available. Continue
with operating step 6.
ON The wide dynamic function is switched
on. Thus, the dynamic range is by 128 times
greater and both bright as well as dark objects
can clearly be recognize on the monitor.
4) WD LEVEL wide dynamic level
Adjust an optimum picture reproduction with the
buttons
Then select the next menu line with the button
5) WD CONTRAST wide dynamic contrast
Select between NORMAL and TURBO with the
button Enter.
Then select the next menu line with the button
6) LENS lens type
This menu line cannot be selected. It only serves
to indicate the position (DC or VIDEO) of the se-
lector switch (1) for the lens type.
7) LEVEL level of the iris control
The iris can always further be opened or closed
with the buttons
brightness can be changed:
-•------- The iris is further closed.
-------•- The iris is further opened.
Note: If the wide dynamic function is switched on in
the menu line WD, the level adjustment of the iris
control only has a minor effect on the picture
brightness.

8) EXIT Go from this menu item back to the main
menu 1: Press the button Enter.
