❐ Before you use the device, make sure that the water tank has been suffi ciently fi lled with
water, that the water tank / fi lter compartment cover has been closed correctly, and that
the fi lter insert and permanent fi lter have been correctly inserted and fi lled.
❐ Please note: The hotplate remains switched on even after the end of the brewing pro-
cess! Move the On/Off switch to the 0 position to switch off the hotplate Never place the
empty coffee pot on the hot heating plate!
❐ Scalding hazard! Let the permanent fi lter cool off before you remove used coffee powder!
❐ Always let the coffee maker cool off for at least fi ve minutes between two brewing pro-
cesses before using it again.
❐ Never add water to the coffee maker if it has already been switched on. You could scald
yourself – in the worst case – due to the sudden emission of steam.
❐ Never use the device with an empty water tank; the pump could be damaged if the device
is operated without water.
❐ Do not overfi ll the water tank to prevent the coffee pot from overfl owing later! Use the
supplied glass coffee pot to fi ll the water tank. Do not fi ll more than 12 cups of water (one
full coffee pot) in the water tank.
The coffee maker has a drip guard valve. You can also take the coffee pot off of the
heating plate during the brewing process to pour yourself a cup of coffee. But be
careful: You should set the coffee pot back on the heating plate in no later than 20
seconds to prevent water the coffee fi lter from overfl owing with water!
1. Always place the device on a solid, level and heat-resistant surface.
2. Only connect the device to a properly installed, easily accessible socket.
3. Flip up the water tank / fi lter compartment cover.
4. Add the desired quantity of water to the water tank.
5. If you have not already done so, place the fi lter insert in the fi lter compartment.
6. Place the permanent fi lter in the fi lter insert and add the desired amount of coffee powder.
Make sure that the fi lter insert and permanent fi lter have been properly inserted so that
the water can run through the fi lter without any obstructions.
7. Close the water tank / fi lter compartment cover.
8. Place the coffee pot on the heating plate.
9. Set the On/Off switch to the 1 position to switch on the coffee machine. The On/Off
switch will light up and the brewing process will start immediately. The brewing process is
complete when no more coffee fl ows through the fi lter into the coffee pot.
10. After the brewing process, you can take the coffee pot off of the heating plate and serve
the coffee. Leave the coffee pot on the heating plate to keep the coffee warm.
11. After the brewing process or if you don't need the heating plate any more, turn off the
coffee maker by setting the On / Off switch to the 0 position. The light of the On / Off
switch turns off once the coffee maker has turned off.
12. After use, clean the device as described in the chapter "Cleaning and decalcifying the
device".
