OPERATION

Connect the lava lamp to the mains. Via the ON/Off-switch you can switch the lamp on or off. Please note
that it can take 1-2 hours until the illuminant has heated up the wax sufficiently. If the wax is sufficiently
heated up, constantly new shapes of wax move upwards. The wax then cools down and slowly returns to the
bottom.

SAFETY NOTES

The lava lamp should only be operated by an ambient temperature between 21°C and 25°C to insure optimal
operation. Undesirable ambient temperatures such as hot base-surfaces or air conditioning units have an
effect on the proper functioning of the lamp.
Never expose the lava lamp to the sun, as this could cause fading of the colored wax and colored fluid.
Ensure proper ventilation during operation in order to avoid irritating odors.
During the course of first time use, it may take up to 3-4 hours until the lava lamp is fully heated. The
optimum effect is reached after the lamp has been in use 5-6 times. The colored fluid becomes brighter and
brighter, finally reaching its brilliant coloring.
Do not shake or move the lamp while the wax is soft, because otherwise the fluid may become cloudy. After
switching the lamp off, wait 20 minutes until the wax becomes firm again.
Continuous operation oft he lava lamp should not exceed ten (10) hours, as the wax may break down into
small clumps.
The lava lamp is sealed, never open it! The glass-cylinder contains a flammable fluid, based on paraffin, do
not drink it!
If the wax does not show any movement after 3-4 hours, please check the lamp.
If the wax breaks down into small clumps or the main amount of wax floats in the top portion of the lamp,
then the lava lamp is too hot. Switch the lamp off until the wax has cooled off completely then switch the lava
lamp on again.
Caution
If the glass-cylinder breaks or develops a leak, irritating fumes may be discharged! Avoid contact of the fluid
with eyes and skin! If contact is made with eyes or skin, rinse with clear water.

REPLACING THE LAMP

Before replacing the lamp, unplug mains lead and let the lamp cool down (approx. 5 minutes).
During the installation do not touch the glass-bulbs bare-handed! Please follow the lamp manufacturer's
notes!
DANGER TO LIFE!
Only install the lamp with the device switched off!
Unplug from mains before!
CAUTION!
The lamp has to be replaced when it is damaged
or deformed due to the heat!
