It is important that a good flue duct be
installed in order to avoid backflow or
irregular outlet of the gases.
The necessary precautions should also be
taken to ensure that no condensation
produced in the flue duct enters the boiler.
B11BS-type boilers: They are equipped with
an evacuation control device for the products of
combustion, which should never be unplugged.
If the boiler detects an inadequate evacuation of
flue gases, the gas supply will be shut off and
the corresponding fault code will be displayed.
See section under "Fault Codes" in the user's
manual.
B11-type boilers: These are not equipped with
the above control device. This type of boiler may
only be installed in a room separate from
residential premises and with suitable ventilation
direct to the outside.
R-20/20FF and R-20/20FP: Set up the various
components supplied as shown in
Connect the elbow to the boiler flue socket in the
desired configuration. If it does not coincide with
the fixing holes, it is best to drill the elbow plate.
If the outer duct has been shortened, the inner
duct must also be cut to the same length.
Make a ∅110 mm opening in the outside wall
and allow the straight run of pipe to slightly slope
outwards.
Important: R-20/20FF and R-20/20FP boilers
are CE-certified for use with the following types
of flue ducts. See
Fig. 4 and 5:
C12:Horizontal flue duct with discharge to the
outside air. Maximum length in a straigth
line: 3 metres.
C32:Vertical flue duct with discharge above the
roof. Flue terminals of larger diameter
available on the market can be used. In
this case, the maximum length allowed in
a straight line is 8 metres.
C42:Horizontal flue duct connected to a
common stack type 3 CE (common stack
for room-sealed boilers).
C82:Double horizontal conduit. Air inlet from
outside and gas outlet to a single common
conduit. Maximum length from the end of
the air inlet to the gas outlet: 10 metres.
In all these cases, for each 90° elbow that is
fitted, the maximum length will be reduced by
0.7 metres.
R-20/20T Carry out assembly of the kit provided.
See
Fig.
5. If it is connected to a flue duct, please
note that it must be designed taking into account
that the maximum rate of flow of the products of
combustion is 17.8 gr/sec and that their mean
temperature is 107°C. It is important that a good
flue duct be installed in order to avoid backflow
or irregular outlet of the gases. The necessary
precautions should also be taken to ensure that
no condensation produced in the flue duct enters
the boiler.
Note: The maximum length allowed in a straight
line is 8 metres. For each 90° elbow that is fitted,
the above dimension will be reduced by 0.5 m.
Electrical connections
The female connector is plugged into the boiler,
as shown in
figure
6. To connect it, proceed as
follows:
– Remove it from the boiler.
– Remove the protective cover of the terminal
strip.
– Connect the Live lead to terminal 'L1'.
– Connect the Earth lead to the terminal marked
– Connect the Neutral lead to terminal 'N'.
If the installation has an ambient thermostat,
remove the jumper across terminals T1 and S3
and connect the thermostat wires to them
(minimum cross-section 1 mm
If the thermostat features an anticipatory resistor,
connect it to terminal 'T2', as shown in
The male connector (plug) is located at the
bottom left side of the boiler. See
Ensure that the multiple connector is properly
positioned. It must be pushed fully home.
Remember that if the power supply to the boiler
is to be isolated, this connector must be
unplugged.
Note:
The Earth connection is obligatory.
