Instruct the patient to see a physician immediately if any exceptional changes are noted (e.g.
worsening of the complaint).
5.1 Selecting the Size
► Select the brace size based on the circumference of the pelvis (see size chart).
5.2 Fitting and Application
CAUTION
Direct skin contact with the product
Skin irritation due to chafing or sweat formation
Do not wear this product directly on the skin.
CAUTION
Incorrect or excessively tight application
Risk of local pressure and constriction of blood vessels and nerves due to improper or exces­
sively tight application
Ensure that the product is applied properly and fits correctly.
1) Put on the brace. Observe the correct fit of the sternal support and pelvic band during appli­
cation.
2) Modify the metal components by hand to adapt them to the patient's shape. Optional: Use
bending irons with round edges.
3) Lock the position of the pelvic band at the swivel connections on both sides of the pelvic band
using the supplied screws (see fig. 2).
4) Screw the back support to the waist strap with the sliding adapter piece and center it (see
fig. 3).
5) To adjust the length of the back band, shorten or lengthen the waist strap on the end that can
be loosened.
6) Reposition the screws on the sternum frame (see fig. 4) or slide the side rails (see fig. 5) to
adjust the circumference in the area of the chest.
Checks
After putting on the brace, check the following:
Pressure, placement and fitting of supports and pelvic band
Tension and fit of the waist strap and brace frame
Fit and hyperextension effect in the sitting position
Instructing the patient
1) Use the locking lever to put the brace on and take it off (see fig. 6).
2) To put on the brace, open the locking lever on the left side of the brace and engage the loose
hand grip on the right side of the brace (see fig. 7).
3) Secure the brace on the body by engaging the locking lever.
6 Cleaning
NOTICE
Use of improper cleaning agents
Damage to the product due to use of improper cleaning agents
Only clean the product with the approved cleaning agents.
The brace is not damaged by water, which means that personal hygiene (e.g. showering) and
therapy in water that contains chlorine or salt are, in principle, possible when wearing the brace.
The brace must subsequently be cleaned as follows:
