Dans la boîte de Petri de l'expérience 1, récupère le plus gros cristal pour le faire

grandir ! Isole-le sur une feuille d'essuie-tout. Fais un noeud coulant (voir page 32-33),
attache le cristal puis noue la ficelle au bâton.

Dans le gobelet A, verse 3 cuillères vertes d'alun de potassium. Fais des cuillères bien
bombées. Avec l'agitateur, gratte les cristaux de ta boîte de Petri pour les verser dans le
gobelet A.

Dans le gobelet B, verse 30 ml d'eau. Demande à un adulte de faire chauffer pendant
30 secondes au four à micro-ondes.
4.
Demande à un adulte de verser l'eau chaude dans le gobelet A d'alun de potassium.
Avec le mélangeur et l'agitateur, mélange pendant 2 minutes pour dissoudre la poudre.
5.
Dans le gobelet B, verse 20 ml d'eau avec le petit gobelet. Demande à un adulte de
faire chauffer pendant 40 secondes au four à micro-ondes.
6.
Demande à un adulte de verser l'eau chaude dans le gobelet A d'alun de potassium.
Avec le mélangeur et l'agitateur, mélange pendant 2 minutes pour dissoudre la poudre.

Si tout n'est pas dissous ce n'est pas grave. Verse la solution dans un verre propre sans
mettre les grains non dissous.
8.
Laisse refroidir 30 minutes. Place ensuite le cristal dans la solution sans toucher le
fond, ni les bords du verre. Mets une feuille d'essuie-tout au dessus de ton verre pour ne
pas introduire de saleté dans ta solution. Laisse reposer et vérifie la croissance de ton
cristal chaque jour.

make bigger! Place it on a piece of kitchen towel. Make a slip knot (see page 32-33), attach
the crystal then tie the string to the stick.

Pour 3 green spoonfuls of potassium alum into cup A. The spoon should be heaped.
Using the stirring rod, scrape the crystals from the Petri dish and pour them into cup A.

Pour 30 ml of water into cup B. Ask an adult to warm this in the microwave for 30
seconds.

Ask an adult to pour warm water into cup A with the potassium alum. Using the mixer
and the stirring rod, mix for 2 minutes to dissolve the powder.
5.
Pour 20 ml of water into beaker B with the small beaker. Ask an adult to warm this in
the microwave for 40 seconds.
6.
Ask an adult to pour warm water into cup A with the potassium alum. Using the mixer and
the stirring rod, mix for 2 minutes to dissolve the powder.
7.
It doesn't matter if it doesn't dissolve completely. Pour the solution into a clean glass,
without adding the undissolved grains.
8.
Leave to cool for 30 minutes. Next, place the crystal in the solution without letting it touch
the bottom or the sides of the glass. Place a sheet of kitchen towel over the glass to prevent
dirt getting in your solution. Leave it to rest and check the growth of your crystal every day.
