Assembling the AV-EP pressure regulator
on a base plate
Damage to the AV05-EP pressure regulator!
If you place the AV05-EP on the base plate incorrectly, the spring contact pins (44)
can bend.
O Place the AV05-EP on the base plate so that the spring contact pins are first
inserted into the recesses.

1. Place the AV-EP on the rotational axis
– AV03-EP: onto the rotational axis at an angle
– AV05-EP: insert the spring contact pins into the recesses from above and slide
towards the rotational axis.
2. Fold down the AV-EP so that it rests on the AV-EP base plate. Make sure the seal
(45) is installed correctly in the pressure regulator.
3. Tighten the two captive screws.
Tightening torque: 0.5 ±0.1 Nm
Assembling or changing the pneumatic push-in
fitting on the AV-EP base plate
Danger of injury due to loose PUR tubing!
The push-in fittings are only suitable for PUR tubing if additional stiffener sleeves
have been inserted in the ends of the PUR tubing.
O Use only AVENTICS stiffener sleeves with the following material numbers:

Straight and 90° angled push-in fittings are available to connect pneumatic working
lines to base plates. Push-in fittings are only included in the scope of delivery of valve
systems assembled at the factory. Push-in fitting replacement is shown in Fig. 17.
Steps 1 and 2 are omitted for initial assembly.

Assembling the valve system
AV05-EP
1. Re-assemble the valve system on the mounting surface (see Fig. 11).
2. Move the valve manual overrides to position 0 and re-establish the electrical and
pneumatic connections to the valve system (see R412018507, Valve System
Assembly and Connection).

All pneumatic connections are run through the base plate.
Connecting the AV-EP electrical components
The circuit boards in the base plates establish the electrical connection
to the bus coupler.
The components in the valve system are re-arranged after conversion. The bus
coupler reports the new sequence to the control. You must therefore reconfigure
the PLC. The process depends on the fieldbus protocol.
O Update your system's PLC configuration. Note the system description on the bus
coupler used (on CD R412018133). There, you can find more information on the
PLC configuration key.
You can find information on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
in the technical data; see chapter 16.
