Mounting the foot stirrup
1) Place the bearing bushing (item 1) in the foot stirrup (item 2) (see fig. 3).
2) Insert the foot stirrup together with the axial washers (item 3) into the
base body (see fig. 4). The stops of the axial washers must be positioned
in the receivers on the underside of the joint for this purpose (see fig. 5).
3) Slide the bearing nut from the back side through the base body and the
foot stirrup and use the joint screw to screw it from the front.
4) Check whether the foot component can be moved smoothly and without
play. Use axial washers of varying thicknesses if necessary.
5) Make sure that the axial washers prevent direct contact between the met­
al base body and the foot stirrup.
6) For the final assembly, secure the screw connection with Loctite 241
and the corresponding torque.

Mounting the bar
► Fasten the bar to the basic piece using the countersunk head screws
and secure the screw connections with Loctite 241 and the correspond­
ing torque.

5.3 Installing the modules
The individual combination options of the modules, the stop pin and the
compression spring are used to adapt the system ankle joint to the patient.
Mounting the compression spring
1) Place the ball together with the spring guide housing in the base body;
the ball is positioned in the receiver of the spring guide housing.
2) Mount the compression spring.
3) For the final assembly, apply Loctite 241 to secure the thread of the set
screw.
4) Close the channel on the base body with the set screw, observing the
angle setting of the ankle joint as you do so.
