The GSD file contains the bit coding and error texts.
Channel-related diagnostics: This diagnostic message reports the input or output channel where
an error is present or it reports special errors that can be found in the module's operating
instructions and that abort the diagnosis process. Currently, channel diagnosis is only implemented
in pressure regulators.
Channel-related diagnostics consist of the following:
3 bytes of diagnostic data are sent per error.
In the first byte, the two highest bits (no. 6 and 7) conain the identifier for channel-related
diagnosis (bit 7 = 1, bit 6 = 0) . The 6 lower bit values contain the module number where diagnosis
is pending.
In the second byte, the two highest-order bits (no. 6 and 7) indicate whether the channel
is an input (bit 6 = 1), an output (bit 7 = 1), or combined (bit 6 and 7 = 1). The low-order bits
contain the channel for which the error is pending.
In the third byte, the three highest-order bits (no. 5, 6, and 7) indicate which data type is affected
by the error (see table 17). The low-order bits break down the error in more detail.

Currently, in bits 0 to 4, the modules return the ERROR state as the binary value 01001 (decimal 9).
Further states are added as needed. The definition of these states can either be found in the
standard description of Profibus diagnosis or in the GSD file.

on page 84. A description of the diagnostic data for AV-EP pressure regulators can be found
in the operating instructions for AV-EP pressure regulators. The diagnostic data for the I/O zone
is described in the system descriptions of the individual I/O modules.
