PLC Configuration of the Valve System
5.5

Setting the bus coupler parameters

The characteristics of the valve system are influenced by the different parameters that you set
in the controller. You can use these parameters to determine the responses of the bus coupler
and the I/O modules.
This section only describes the parameters for the bus coupler. The parameters of the I/O zone
and the pressure regulators are explained in the system description of the individual I/O modules
or in the operating instructions for the AV-EP pressure regulators. The system description of the bus
coupler explains the parameters for the valve driver boards.
The following parameters can be set for the bus coupler:
Type of diagnostic messages
Response to an interruption in PROFIBUS DP communication
Response to a backplane malfunction
The selection of possible bus coupler parameters is displayed in the configuration file in the PLC
configuration program.
Enter the corresponding parameters in your PLC configuration program.
The parameters and configuration data are not saved locally by the bus coupler. They are sent
from the PLC to the bus coupler and the installed modules on startup.

Parameters for diagnostic messages

The valve system can send the following diagnostic messages:

Parameter designation in the German GSD file
Identifier-related diagnosis
Module status
Channel-related diagnosis
With the parameters for diagnostic messages (see section 5.4 "Configuring the valve system" on
page 76) you set which diagnostic data is to be sent from the bus coupler to the control.
The diagnostic messages can be switched on or off via a corresponding entry option.
Diagnostic message activated: The diagnosis will be forwarded to the controller.
Diagnostic message deactivated: The diagnosis will not be forwarded to the controller
(presetting).
Identifier-related diagnostics: This diagnostic message is generated by the installed modules
(valve drivers, digital input modules, etc.) and is assigned to the slot. Each module sends a bit
to the master, which contains the diagnostic status "error" or "no error".
The identifier-related diagnosis for the AES bus coupler consists of 9 bytes.
Byte 1 contains the identifier for the diagnostic type and the length of the diagnostic
information (0x49).
In bytes 2 to 9, the individual slots are incremented:
