4. Maintenance

1. Do not take measurements in environments with
temperature fluctuations. Do not store the device in
places with extreme temperatures, high humidity or
strong vibrations.
2. Remove the battery from the device before prolonged
storage (danger of leakage!).
3. Oxidation, corrosion, etc. cause aging processes on the
humidity sensor. This can have a significant impact on the
accuracy of the measurement. Therefore clean affected
parts immediately.
4. Cleaning and checking the temperature probe: Smoke,
coal dust, dust and oil or grease substances on the
sensor head of the temperature probe negatively affect
the thermal conductivity of the thermocouple and can
lead to a falsification of the measurement result.
5. Cleaning and checking the humidity sensor: Dust and
smoke deposits on the humidity sensor slow down the
measurement and can negatively affect the measurement
result. The sensor should therefore be cleaned regularly.
For this he is best blown off with compressed air (not too
high pressure). In case of visible corrosion on the board
of the humidity sensor, it is recommended to replace it.
6. Replacing the battery: Remove the battery compartment
cover, remove used batteries, insert new "AAA" batteries,
close the battery compartment cover again.
