Mounting
Installation via holes for M4-sized screws in the case or via a mounting device
BT 8-01 (accessory).
Observe installation dimensions and system arrangement!
A Turning connector, 90°
B Indicator diodes:
B1 - Status LED,
B2 - Decode LED
C Scanning beam, divergence max. 5mm
at 150 mm reading distance
D Optical axis
E Bar code tape
ATTENTION
 Install strain relief at a distance of max. 15cm to the connectors.
NOTE
Degree of protection IP 67 is achieved only if the connectors and caps are
screwed into place!

Electrical connection – Commissioning with factory settings
 Connect 5VDC voltage supply and, if necessary, switching input and RS 232
interface.
 If necessary, connect BPS 8 with KDS S-M12-5A-M12-5x-P1-xxx (accessory)
to the MA 8.1 (RS 232 interface, accessory) or to the MA 8-xx (RS 485 inter-
face, accessory).
 Switch on supply voltage; the status LED must illuminate green.
 Activate measurement via switching input or interface. The laser switches itself
on.
 At a distance of approx. 100mm, move the BPS 8 past the bar code tape. The
BPS 8 outputs the position data.
