b) Radio Camera

• First screw the aerial (23) to the respective socket (20) on the rear of the radio camera. The aerial can be
aligned in different angles to improve reception.
• The enclosed holder (30) can be screwed to the bottom or the top of the radio camera, depending on
where the radio camera is to be installed.
If the holder is to be screwed on to the top of the radio camera, remove the single large screw
on the sun protection (24). Below it, you will see the stand thread matching the holder.
Depending on the mounting site (e.g. below a ceiling), the sun protection may be removed by first
turning out the two small screws on the top of the sun protection.
• Attach the holder with suitable screws and, if applicable, dowels, depending on basis. When drilling or
tightening screws, ensure that no wires or lines are damaged.
Before firm assembly, first check whether the radio transmission between radio camera and
screen/DVR is proper.
Many ambience conditions have a negative influence on the range and quality of radio reception
that can be achieved. See chapter 17 in these operating instructions for this.
Select the assembly site so that it is protected from manipulation attempts at the radio camera.
The radio camera therefore should be installed at a minimum height of 2.5 m.
We recommend to choose a site protected from precipitation/splashing water when using it out-
doors (e.g. below a protruding roof), since drop formation of splashing water on the front screen
of the camera will cause the image to be distorted ad useless.
• Point the lens of the radio camera (and thus the PIR sensor as well) at the desired monitoring area. Pre-
cisely adjustment can be done later, when the radio camera image is visible on the screen/DVR.
• The PIR sensor (28) in the radio camera reacts to temperature changes in the recording area, e.g. if a
person or pet with a different temperature than the background enters the recording area.
This permits automatic start of the recording (if this is activated in the menu of the screen/DVR).
Observe that the PIR sensor does not react to movement at such, but only to temperature
change.
The range for recognition of a movement depends on several factors:
- Mounting height of the radio camera
- Temperature difference between the moving object and the background (environment)
- Object size
- Distance of the object from the PIR sensor in the radio camera
- Movement direction and speed
- Ambience temperature (e.g. summer, winter)
Depending on assembly site and ambient conditions there, it therefore may also happen that the
PIR sensor cannot work correctly for reasons of its operating principle.
