Troubleshooting
NIBE SMS 40 HAS NO CONTACT WITH THE
GSM NETWORK
NIBE SMS 40 does not respond to the SMS command
and a symbol for no contact with the GSM network is
shown in the climate unit's menu 4.1.4 (menu 5.3.5 if
your unit has software version 2041 or earlier).

Check that:
• NIBE SMS 40 is activated in menu 5.2.4 in the climate
unit.
• The telephone number must include the country code,
as illustrated.
• "alarm receiver" is checked according to image.
• Any pay as you go cards are charged with money.
• the SIM card is correctly installed.
• The antenna is suitably positioned.
• The PIN is deactivated.
NIBE SMS 40 HAS NO CONTACT WITH THE
CLIMATE UNIT
• The alarm in the heat pump/indoor module display.
– See section Disturbances in comfort in the manual
for the heat pump/indoor module.
• Incorrectly connected cables between NIBE SMS 40
and heat pump/indoor module.
NO REPLY TO THE SMS MESSAGE
• The telephone number is not registered in the climate
unit's menu 4.1.4 (menu 5.3.5 if your unit has software
version 2041 or earlier).
• The telephone uses an application for SMS handling.
If this is the case, deactivate the application to estab-
lish whether it blocks the messages from NIBE
SMS 40.

LOW BATTERY
When the battery level drops to level 1 an SMS is sent
with the text "low battery".
Level 5 is fully charged battery and level 0 is discharged
battery.
RESETTING NIBE SMS 40
To reset the device, press the reset button as illustrated.
The device then restarts. Settings in the climate unit
such as telephone numbers are not affected by the re-
set.
Caution
If the SIM card in NIBE SMS 40 is replaced,
the climate unit must be restarted.
