Aligning using the Laser Line
Position the measuring tool with the three supporting points (11) against
the wall or with help of the magnets (13), fasten it to the holder (2) or to an-
other magnetic surface.
Horizontal alignment (see figures C–D): The aluminium supporting sur-
face (7) of the measuring tool must face downward. Horizontally align the
measuring tool using the spirit level (6). As an example, you can align picture
frames or shelves alongside the horizontal laser line.
Vertical alignment (see figure D): The outlet aperture of the laser (8) must
face upward. Vertically align the measuring tool using the spirit level (5). As
an example, you can align top and base cabinets alongside the vertical laser
line.
Aligning to reference points (see figure E): Turn the measuring tool to any
required angle in order to align the laser line alongside your reference
points. In this manner, as an example, picture frames can be hung parallel to
a stairway or ceiling pitch.
Checking Horizontal/Vertical Lines with the Spirit Levels (see figure F)
The measuring tool can also be used as a carpenter's spirit level for checking
vertical and horizontal lines, for example to align a washing machine or a re-
frigerator. Position the measuring tool with the aluminium supporting sur-
face (7) on the surface to be checked.
When positioning against horizontal surfaces, the aluminium supporting sur-
face (7) must face downward. When positioning against vertical surfaces,
the outlet aperture for the laser (8) must face upward.

Working Advice

Only the centre of the laser line must be used for marking. The width

of the laser line changes depending on the distance.
Attaching using the Holder
There are three methods for mounting the holder (2) on various surfaces:
– Attaching with pins (see figure G): With the pins (3) provided, the
holder (2) can be fastened to drywall or wooden walls. Insert the pins
through the recesses in the holder as shown in the figure.
– Attaching with a screw: Hanging it by the recess on its rear, place the
holder (2) onto a screw head slightly projecting out of a wall.
