Disconnecting the
refrigerator and
cool fresh"
compartments
If only the freezer compartment is to
be left on, e.g. during vacation,
the refrigerator and cool fresh"
compartments can be disconnected.
To do this, press button, Fig. 2/11,
until the displays, Fig. 2/8, go out.
Clean the refrigerator and cool fresh"
compartments.
Note: Keep doors closed!
The refrigerator and cool fresh"
compartments are cooled slightly
to prevent the formation of odours.
Defrosting
and cleaning
Freezer compartment

S Place the freezer drawers containing
the food in a cool location. Place the
ice block (if enclosed) on the food.
S Pull out the mains plug or remove
the fuse.
S Empty the middle drawer and leave
in the appliance to catch the water.
S To accelerate the defrosting process,
place two pans of hot water on a base
in the appliance. Close the appliance
door to prevent heat from escaping.

S When the freezer compartment has
defrosted, pour the water out of the
freezer drawer. Wipe any remaining
water off the bottom of the freezer
compartment with a sponge.
S Re insert the mains plug, switch on the
fuse.
S Put the frozen food back in the freezer
compartment.
Defrosting sprays
Follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Attention
!
Defrosting sprays may form explosive
gases and may contain solvents or
propellants which attack plastic or which
are a health hazard.
Refrigerator and
cold fresh" compartments
defrost fully automatically
While the refrigerating unit is running,
condensation or hoarfrost forms on
the rear panel of the refrigerator
compartment. This is quite normal.
It is not necessary to wipe off the
condensation or hoar frost. The rear panel
defrosts automatically. The condensation
runs into the drainage channel Fig. r and
then to the refrigerating unit where it
evaporates.
