PROPERTIES OF YOUR NEW FONDUE SET
Your »Fondue Set« can serve for a broad variety of different types of food. Additio-
nally, it provides the required flexibility for your guests to make their own ideas for
preparing their food come true.
•
The maximum temperature of approx. 190°C (approx. 375°F) is suited for tasty
meat dishes: in hot oil, the pores of your meat are closed immediately and your
meat gets juicy and tender.
•
Cook meat and vegetables in the medium temperature range in stock or spicy
sauces or coat pre-cooked pieces with cheese, tomato sauce or other types of
hot dips. The continuously variable temperature control of the heating plate ena-
bles even very low temperature settings, actually starting at room temperature.
Approx. 40°C (100°F) corresponds to the control dial setting "MIN". Therefore,
even small cakes and cookies, nuts, almonds, and fruit may be coated with deli-
cious icings of chocolate, nugat, almond creme, vanilla sauce, jelly and many
others. Even delicate ingredients are not burnt.
•
The complete set of 8 colour-coded fondue forks can be fixed easily in the forks
holder.
•
Use the provided fondue dishes for placing up to 60ml of various dips in the
convenient revolution disc of the robust rubber wood turn table, where the fon-
due dishes are fixed stably. There is no need to worry that the may tilt or fall,
when turning the disc. This way, all your guests get access to each fondue dish
without effort.
•
At the heat-insulated handles of the fondue pot you may take out the fondue pot
for filling. Due to the slightly conical shaped heating plate, the fondue pot stands
stably and cannot be pushed via an unintended knock.
•
The heating indicator illuminates, while the heating element is active.
•
After operation, you may clean the fondue dishes, fondue forks, forks holder,
and fondue pot in the automatic dishwasher.
OVERHEAT PROTECTION DEVICE
For your protection, the heating element of the heating base is equipped with a ther-
mal fuse. If the appliance gets overheated, the appliance is deactivated complete-
ly. In this case, return the appliance to an authorised service centre for examination
and repair.
TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS
•
The fondue pot is equipped with a non-stick coating. Just wipe the coating with

some drops of oil before first use and after cleaning in an automatic dishwasher
(see: 'Before First Use'). Thereafter there is no need for using additional fat.
•
When preparing oil fondue, please keep in mind that some types of cooking oil
will not withstand high temperature. It is best to use oil suited for deep frying or
roasting.
•
Season meat before cooking, but add salt only thereafter. This will keep your
meat juicy.
•
Do not let the ingredients fall into the hot liquid in the fondue pot. Whenever
possible, use the provided fondue forks that can be fixed in the forks holder of
the fondue pot.
•
We recommend to hold a small ladle at hand for removing any pieces of food
that fell off the fondue fork during cooking.
•
Most types of fish are not suited for fondue, as fish falls apart during cooking.
•
Cooking is always a matter of distinct tastes. A fondue is the perfect way for
each one of your guests to make his or her individual likings come true.
•
It is best to use fillet for your fondue. However, tougher cuts of meat (e.g. shoul-
der) should be marinated for a few hours or overnight in a marinade with wine
or vinegar to help break down the connective tissue. These types of meat are
suited only for an oil fondue with sufficiently high temperature settings.
•
Drain marinade and dab your meat dry, before cooking. The pieces should be
immersed completely.
•
Regularly stir glutinous and delicate sauces in the fondue pot, using wooden or
heat-resistant plastic cooking utensils. Do not use the fondue forks for stirring!
SETTING THE TEMPERATURE
•
The optimum suited temperature settings and cooking times for your dishes
depend on the type, thickness, and consistency of the ingredients. However,
you should not over-cook your food. Most types of food may be better, when
still being juicy and crispy.
•
Non-sensitive sauces, stock, or oil can be heated at maximum temperature set-
ting first. After the desired temperature is reached (e.g. stock is simmering), turn
the control dial back to a medium setting for keeping hot.
•
Some types of food get dry and/or tough or fall apart completely (e.g. some
types of vegetables) when cooked for a too long time and/or at too high tem-
perature.
