INSTALL ROTOR
Mount the rotor to the hub using the supplied T25 TORX® bolts and tighten
to 6.2 N•m (55 in-lb). Avid logo MUST face out. Install the wheel into the fork
or frame.
2
MOUNT FRONT AND REAR CALIPER
Mount the front caliper (shorter hose) to the fork and the rear caliper (longer hose) to the frame.

I.S. MOUNT
Loosen the CPS bolts, then bolt the caliper to the mounting
tabs. Tighten the mounting bolts to 9-10 N•m (80-90 in-lb).
Check that the caliper moves freely on the CPS hardware.

DIRECT MOUNT
Remove the mounting bracket but leave the CPS bolts and
washer stacks intact. Bolt the caliper directly to the fork.
Snug the bolts, then back them out 1/8th to 1/4th turn.
Check that the caliper moves freely on the CPS hardware.
Note: For larger rotor sizes, an adapter bracket may be
necessary. See Make Sure You Have The Correct
Brackets for options.

ADJUST HOSE ANGLE, THEN ROUTE
(ELIXIR 9/ELIXIR 7)
If necessary, you can change the banjo position to improve hose
routing. Lightly loosen the banjo bolts on the caliper with an
8 mm open-end wrench and rotate the fi ttings for optimal routing.
Re-tighten the banjo bolts to the specifi ed torque, then route the
hose. Make sure there is enough hose at critical points to allow
for suspension movement, but also make sure there aren't any big
loops of extra hose. Now, secure the hose to the frame or fork.
ADJUST HOSE ANGLE, THEN ROUTE
(CODE/CODE R)
If necessary, you can change the banjo position to improve hose
routing. Start by removing the brake pads so you don't risk getting
DOT fl uid on the pad surface (see pad replacement steps for di-
rections). Next, use a 5 mm hex wrench to slightly loosen the front
caliper body bolt. Rotate the banjo fi tting to the desired position
Rear
and re-tighten the caliper bolt to the specifi ed torque. Make sure
there is enough hose at critical points to allow for suspension
movement, but also make sure there aren't any big loops of extra
hose.
Important: You may have introduced air into the system by
changing the banjo position. Don't be lazy, take the time to
bleed the system when you are done with the installation.
