The pump can be transported and stored either vertically or horizontally.
Make sure that it is securely lashed and cannot roll.
CAUTION!
The pump must always rest on a firm surface so that it
will not overturn. This applies to all handling, transport,
testing and installation.
NOTE!
Always protect the cable end so that no moisture will penetrate
into the cable.
Water could otherwise seep into the terminal compartment or
into the motor through the cable.
Safety measures
In order to reduce the risk of accidents during service and installation
work, take extreme care and bear in mind the risk of electrical accidents.
CAUTION!
The lifting tackle must always be designed to suit the
pump weight. See under the heading "Product
description".
Never walk under a suspended load.
Installation of pump with discharge bracket - F
Arrange the cable run to the pump sump. Make
sure that the cables are not kinked or nipped.
Install the discharge bracket at the bottom of the
pump sump, using the expanding bolts supplied.
When fitting the upper guide bracket, make certain
that the guide tubes are vertical and parallel with
one another. Connect the delivery pipe to the
discharge bracket.
The lifting tackle must be installed at a point which
is directly above the centre of gravity of the pump.
As the pump is lowered, it will connect automatically to the discharge
bracket as it reaches the bottom of its travel.
Connect the cables to the starter equipment.
The pipes and valves must be sized to suit the performance of the pump.
See the product sheet for the pump.

Electrical connections

The pump must be connected to terminals or starting equipment installed at
a level at which it cannot be flooded.
The electrical installation shall be inspected by an autorized electrician.
CAUTION!
All electrical equipment must always be earthed
(grounded). This applies both to the pump and to any
monitoring equipment.
Check that the mains voltage, frequency, starting equipment and method of
starting agree with the particulars stamped on the motor rating plate.
N.B. A pump designed for 400 volt can be used in the 380-415 volt range.
Connection of stator and motor conductors.
Connect the stator and motor conductors as shown in the diagrams on
page 52.
To enable the correct connections to be made, the number of conductors,
any monitoring equipment and the method of starting (see rating plate)
must be known.
The following wiring diagrams apply:
50/60 Hz
4-core cable
1 = delta connection
2x4-core cable 2 = delta connection
2x4-core cable 3 = star/delta starting
The colour coding is as follows:
A = Brown
B = Blue

Handling

Installation

E = Black
CAUTION!
Always lift the pump by the lifting handle - never by the
motor cable or hose.
After a longer period of storage, the pump must be inspected and the
impeller must be rotated by hand before the pump is taken into operation.
Check the seals and cable entry particularly carefully.
CAUTION!
Before lifting the pump, check the condition of the lifting
handle and make sure that its screws are securely
tightened.
Installation of pump for dry installation - T
Arrange the cable run so that the cables will not be
kinked or nipped.
A pump unit designed for dry installation is equipped
with support and suction elbow.
Bolt the support to the foundation.
The delivery side should also be equipped with a drain
valve to enable the air contained in the system to be
purged. This connection can also be used for
connecting a pressure gauge.
The pipes and valves must be sized to suit the performance of the pump.
See the product sheet for the pump.
Installation of transportable pump version - P
Arrange the cable run so that the cables will not
be kinked or nipped.
A transportable pump unit is equipped with a
support for permanent or temporary submerged
installation.
Connect the delivery pipe and cable. For further
particulars, see under the heading "Electrical
connections".
Hoses, pipes and valves must be sized to suit
the pump performance. See the product sheet for
the pump.
CAUTION!
The electrical installation must conform to national and
local regulations.
The pumps are supplied for direct on-line starting or star-delta starting. See
therating plate.
If the pump is provided with control conductors, these are marked F0, F1,
Oi. They are connected across terminal blocks in the pump to three
temperature sensors incorporated into the motor. These must be connected
in series with the overcurrent relay in the starting equipment, which is
shown in the wiring diagram for the starter.
The starting equipment must be provided with overcurrent protection which
should be adjusted as follows:
1. Direct on-line starting
Set the overcurrent relay to the current specified on the rating plate. If
the temperature sensor is connected, the setting of the overcurrent
relay may be increased by 10 percent.
2. Star-delta starting
Set the overcurrent relay to the current specified on the rating plate
divided by 1.73 (or the specified rated current multiplied by 0.58). The
power supply should be fused with slow-blow fuses.
Changing the cable.
CAUTION!
If a cable is damaged, it must always be replaced.
