3.5 Installing functional groups
3.5.1 Installing synchronizing cables
1. Lay the synchronizing cables on the basis of the
cable routing diagram.

1 Upper pulleys
2 Steel cable
3 Lower pulley
4 End pieces for attachment to lifting carriage
2. Use safety nuts to attach the end pieces of the
synchronizing cables to the lifting carriage.

Use an open-ended wrench to provide support for
the end pieces and then turn the safety nuts using
a socket wrench and a ratchet.

Adjust the end pieces such that both lifting carriages
are at the same height.
3. Screw in the safety nuts further until both steel
cables are sufficiently taut.

Check for correct cable tension:
Pull the steel cable as firmly as possible by hand
in transverse direction. The deflection should be
approx. 10 cm.

4. Fit the pulley guard plates.

One angled guard plate at the top of each lifting
column.

One U-shaped guard plate at the bottom of each
lifting column.

The guard plate stops the steel cable slipping off the
pulley even in the event of a temporary loss of cable
tension (example: contact with an obstacle).
