3.3 Preparation of lifting columns
3.3.1 Fitting lifting column extensions

Use is made of lifting column extensions for lifting
platforms which are higher than the basic version
(3670 mm). The extensions are normally fitted to the
lifting columns at the factory.
If the extensions are supplied separately, they must be
attached as follows to the lifting columns:

1 End plate
2 Grub screw
3 Cylinder head
4 Metal ring
5 Lifting column extension
6 Hydraulic cylinder
7 Lifting column
Removing hydraulic cylinder
1. Remove the bolts between the end plate (1) and
lifting column (7) and lift off the end plate.
2. Slacken off the grub screw (2).
3. Use a pipe wrench to unscrew the cylinder head (3).
4. Take out the metal ring (4).
5. Pull the hydraulic cylinder (6) downwards out of the end plate.

Extending lifting column
6. Mount the extension (5) on the top of the lifting
column (7) and secure.Fitting hydraulic cylinder
7. Guide the hydraulic cylinder (6) from underneath
into the lifting column extension.
8. Fit the metal ring (4) on the hydraulic cylinder.
9. Screw the cylinder head (3) fully onto the hydraulic
cylinder and tighten by hand.

The seal on the plunger may be damaged if the
cylinder head is not fully screwed on.
10. Tighten the grub screw (3) to fix the cylinder head in position.
11. Mount the end plate (1) on the lifting column
extension (5) and secure.
3.3.2 Fitting limit switch

4 Vertical switch rod
5 Lower mount
1. Guide the vertical switch rod (4) into the lower mount (5),
then insert the upper end in the opening in the end plate (1).
2. Position the switching bar (2) as shown above.
3. Place the limit switch (3) on the mounting plate and
screw on.
4. Check operation: Pushing the vertical switch rod
upwards must cause the limit switch to be actuated.
