Erecting lifting platform
3.4.1
Erecting lifting columns
DANGER – Heavy lifting column
Lifting columns are heavy. Risk of (fatal) injury
from lifting columns falling over.
Only authorized personnel is allowed to be
in the hazard zone.
Always use a crane or block and tackle to
erect the lifting columns.
After erection, the lifting columns must be
secured with a cable to prevent tipping.
1. Mark the intended positions of the base plates on
the foundation with chalk.
i
Refer to Section 7 for foundation plans.
2. Detach the plastic covers from the control column
and secondary column.
i
This avoids the risk of unintentional damage to the
covers.
3. Use a crane or block and tackle to erect the lifting
columns.
4. After erection, secure the lifting columns with
a cable to prevent tipping.
5. Check the spacing at the bottom of the lifting
columns with the aid of the overhead beam.
6. Check that the base plates are aligned at right
angles.

3.4.2
Fitting overhead beam
DANGER – Working at great height
Depending on the version, the upper end of
the lifting columns is at a height of between
3670 and 4650 mm. Risk of (fatal) injury on
falling from ladders.
Use must be made of a work platform
when working at the top end of the lifting
platform.
1. Position the work platform between the lifting
platform.
i
Two people are needed for fitting the overhead
beam.
2. Lift the overhead beam onto the angle pieces
at the top end of the lifting columns.
3. Check the following items again before screwing
on the overhead beam:
$
Spacing of lifting columns
(comparison with overhead beam)
$
Vertical alignment of lifting columns
(spirit level)
!
The lifting columns must be in vertical position.
They should never be inwardly inclined. Place suit-
able metal plates under the base plates if necessary.
4. Screw the overhead beam to the angle pieces.
Use a hexagon bolt, shim and nut for securing.
