Installation of columns
4.2.1
Preparatory work for VLE 2130
1. Fit the two base panels on the main and secondary
columns with two adapters each.
2. Use shear connectors to attach the base panels to
the foundation as specified by the connector manu-
facturer.
!
The base panels must make full surface contact.
i
Shear connectors are not included in the scope of
delivery. 12x M16 shear connectors are required (re-
fer to Section 3.2 and 3.3. Use can also be made of
other makes insofar as these are officially approved
for concrete and their properties meet the minimum
requirements indicated in Section 3.1.
4.2.2
Preparatory work for VLE 2130 F
Use shear connectors to attach the base frame to
the foundation as specified by the connector manu-
facturer.
i
Shear connectors are not included in the scope of
delivery. 4x M12 shear connectors are required (re-
fer to Section 3.2 and 3.3). Use can also be made of
other makes insofar as these are officially approved
for concrete and their properties meet the minimum
requirements indicated in Section 3.1.
4.2.3
Erecting columns
1. Erect the main and secondary columns perpendicu-
larly.
!
The erected columns should never be inwardly incli-
ned. A slight outward inclination of the columns (up
to 10 mm) is advisable.
i
Additional equalizing elements may be required
between the resting surface (e.g. base panel) and
the column.
2. After aligning the columns, move the lifting carriages
to the same height with the platform deenergized
and fit the chain.
i
When doing so, make sure the slider of the chain
break switch makes proper contact with the chain
and that the actuating pin does not yet trigger the
limit switch.
3. Firmly bolt the main column to the base frame or
base panel (tightening torque 200 Nm).

4. Also press the loosely attached secondary column
outwards to pre-tension the chain.
5. Use the chain tensioning plate provided for this
purpose. Insert the narrower side through the spa-
cer plate (secondary side, slot at bottom) and turn
through 90 degrees.
6. Check that the plate does not slip out. Then insert a
fairly large screwdriver (or the like) through the hole.
The bottom end of the screwdriver must rest on the
fixed base panel or base frame.
i
It must only be possible for the stem of the limit
switch to be pressed far enough upwards to deacti-
vate the drive if the chain breaks. It may be necessa-
ry to re-adjust the limit switch (by moving vertically).
The chain guide is to be positioned approx. 1.3 m
7.
away from the lifting column. Then fit the chain
guard such that the hole in the plate is positioned
over the M6 thread of the chain guide. Pull the base
panels (with the columns) outwards until the chain
is slightly pre-tensioned. Then pull the screwdriver
backwards to tension the chain (a fitting tool which
rests on the inserted chain plate is also practical).
i
The chain is correctly pre-tensioned when it can still
just be squeezed by hand in the center (without the
chain guide). The secondary column is also bolted to
the base panel employing a tightening torque of 200
Nm. The chain guide is attached to the chain plate
with the M6x12 bolt provided (with washer).
i
If the base is not flat and the chain guard therefore
does not make full contact ("rattling noise"), the
guard must be secured with two bolts. To do so, drill
two center holes of 9 mm diameter through the plate
(each 100 mm from the outer edge of the plate).
Transfer the drilling pattern to the base and fit two
connectors (diameter 10 mm). Then use two wood
screws (diameter 8 mm) to screw the chain guard
plate to the base.
