 Close the dust compartment lid se-
curely, making sure it clicks into posi-
tion. Take care not to trap the dust-
bag when doing so.

A safety device prevents the lid
closing without a dustbag in place.
Do not force it.

Replacing the motor protection filter

(dia. 25)
Replace the motor protection filter
whenever you start a new packet of
dustbags.
Every packet of original Miele dustbags
contains a motor protection filter. Mul-
tipacks contain four motor protection
filters.
 Open the dust compartment lid.
 Unclip the yellow filter frame, re-
move the old motor protection filter
and replace with a new one.
 Close the filter frame making sure the
catch engages.
 Close the dust compartment lid mak-
ing sure it clicks into position.

Replacing the exhaust filter

Depending on the model, your vacuum
cleaner will be fitted as standard with
one of the following exhaust filters (dia.
26):
a AirClean
Replace this exhaust filter every time
you start a new packet of Miele dust-
bags. Every packet of original Miele
dustbags contains one AirClean ex-
haust filter.

b Active AirClean
c AirClean Plus
Replace these exhaust filters once a
year. Make a note of the date on the ex-
haust filter.
Replacing the AirClean exhaust
filter (dia. 27, 28 + 29)
Do not use more than one exhaust fil-
ter at a time.
 Press the button on the rear of the
vacuum cleaner and remove the
cover.
 Grasp the used AirClean exhaust filter
by the clean, unsoiled section and
take it out (see arrow).
 Replace it with a new AirClean ex-
haust filter.

 Put the cover back on and close it.
Replacing the Active AirClean or
AirClean Plus filter (dia. 30 + 31)
Do not use more than one exhaust fil-
ter at a time.
 Press the button on the rear of the
vacuum cleaner and remove the
cover (dia. 27).
 Remove the used exhaust filter from
the cover.
 Fit a new exhaust filter into the cover.
