Commissioning and operation
Commissioning requires a thorough check by specialist person-
nel!
Prior to initial commissioning, have the machine or system safety
f unctions fully checked by specialist personnel.
No safety check without documentation!
Fully document the configuration of the entire system, the individual
d evices and the result of the safety check.
Safety check after every change to the protective device!
After every change to the configuration and after maintenance and
repair work, have the entire protective device checked for effective-
n ess by specialist personnel and documented.
4.1

Tests before the initial commissioning

4.1.1 Check stop function

The check must be performed separately for each protective device
and for each safe position monitoring.
Close protective device
Start the machine or system
Open the protective device; the dangerous state must be brought
to an end
If the machine or system does not stop, again check compliance
with mounting conditions, the correctness of all electrical con-
n ections and correct the function of the safety system.
If all sensors connected to the evaluation unit are correctly acti-
vated, the outputs switch directly on the closing of the protective
device (automatic reset). Appropriate measures are to be taken
t o prevent inadvertent restarting of the machine.

4.1.2 Checking start function

The check must be performed separately for each protective device
and for each safe position detection.
Deactivate the machine or the system.
