Electrical connection
Connect safety sensors or chains of safety sensors using the re-
lated connections on terminals A1 to A6; during this process ob-
serve the wiring instructions for the sensors.
If any of the connections A1 to A6 are not used, bridge the connec-
tions A and TE.

External device monitoring (EDM)

For checking external relays, the relay evaluation unit IN 40-R has
inputs for the evaluation of the external device monitoring.
If external device monitoring is not used, the related contacts must
be bridged to terminal C2.
Bridging unused connections for external device monitoring (Bridge
contacts R1 and R2 and / or bridge R3 and R4).
The wiring for the external device monitoring is to be installed in
the same control cabinet in which the evaluation unit is fitted.
