16.7 BT-compatible near field communication
BT-compatible near field communication in accordance with BT Standard V2.0 + EDR can be optionally
integrated in the mobile terminal.
16.8 GPS
GPS is available as an optional accessory for the mobile terminal. The GPS module can only be installed
when the device is manufactured. The GPS module is not accessible from the outside and, consequently,
cannot be retrospectively installed.
The following must be observed when using GPS functionality:
Satellite acquisition can take several minutes. The best method to do so is to acquire them outdoors
with a free, unobscured view.
Satellite acquisition may take considerably longer if the view is obstructed, e.g. in the event of thick
clouds, snowfall, etc.
Wait for a positional fix before moving.
Close the GPS application if you are not using it.
16.9 UMTS/SIM card
UMTS is available as an optional accessory for the mobile terminal. The UMTS radio card can only be
installed when the device is manufactured. The UMTS radio card is not accessible from the outside and,
consequently, cannot be retrospectively installed. The radio card is immediately identified and driven by the
driver which is integrated in the Win CE.
The device is equipped with a SIM card slot that can be accessed from the battery compartment. The SIM
card may only be inserted by a trained expert.
First carefully lift the black cover film using tweezers. The cover film strap, under which the SIM card slot is
located, must be carefully folded over and retained in place.
The SIM card must be inserted into the SIM card slot with the contacts facing downwards. The SIM card is
fully inserted when the limit stop is reached. Then fold the cover film strap back over and run your finger over
it in order to re-seal it. Insert the battery back into the device and restart the mobile terminal. The SIM card
can now be seen in the application.
