3-11. Mounting the interpolator

Mount the interpolator using the mounting holes at the top
and bottom of the mainframe and the supplied mounting
screws (M4 x 10).
Refer to "7. Dimensions" for the mounting hole dimensions.
To connect the encoder signal input connector, the external
contact-type reference point gate input connector, and output
connector to the interpolator, insert the connectors into the
locations shown in Fig. 3-2 until they click into place.
After mounting the interpolator, be careful not to apply
unnecessary force to any of these connectors. This could cause
disconnection or failure of the connectors.

Supplied ferrite core
To prevent malfunctions caused by noise from other
equipment, attach the supplied ferrite core to the head cable.
Firmly secure the ferrite core to the position nearest to the
interpolator.
When using an extension cable, be sure to attach the ferrite
core to the extension cable end nearer the interpolator.

. Insert the connectors correctly at the designated locations
(refer to Fig. 3-2). The connectors could be damaged if
they are inserted in the wrong locations.
. Always cover the connector socket of the external contact-
type reference point gate input connector with the supplied
connector cap when the reference point connector is not
in use.
