6. Correction Function

The MJ500, MJ600, and MJ700 use an ADC (analog-to-
digital converter) to convert the encoder input signals to digital
signals, and then digital correction is used to obtain high-
accuracy division (high-accuracy interpolation).
Generally, the following requirements must be met in order
to maintain uniformity during splitting.
. The amplitude values of the SIN and COS signals are
balanced.
. No DC offset is present.
. The phase of the COS signal is shifted 90d with respect to
the SIN signal.
. There is no distortion in the higher harmonics of the SIN
and COS signals.
In the MJ500, MJ600, and MJ700, the correction function is
applied to the balance of the SIN/COS signal amplitudes,
DC offset, and phases for performing digital correction in
the optimum state. This correction function allows uniformity
to be maintained during splitting.
Correction range
If signals are present between the MIN value and MAX value,
correction is performed so that the signals become TYP
values.

These values are electrical specifications only. These values
do not guarantee the division accuracy (interpolation

Set the input signal amplitude value and offset voltage
absolute value so that their sum does not exceed 1.2 V.
