3.2 General Safety Instructions

CAUTION
The orthosis may be over-tightened
Risk of local pressure and constriction of blood vessels and nerves.
f Verify the correct positioning and fit of the orthosis.
CAUTION
Use on more than one patient
Skin irritation, formation of eczema or infections
f Only use the orthosis on one patient.
NOTICE
Incorrect environmental conditions
The orthosis is not flameproof.
f Do not expose the orthosis to open flame or other heat sources.
4 Selection of Orthosis Sizes
The size of the orthosis is selected based on the patient's leg length.

5 Construction and Components (fig. 1)
The Genu Immobil Knee Orthosis is supplied ready for trial fitting.
It consists of the following components:
• Orthotic socket with terry cloth interior padding
• Separate side pieces (medial and lateral) with hook & loop straps
• Aluminum splints
• Narrow loop strip
