View of start - TIG LA
Table 3 shows some general indications for the choice
of electrode, based on the thickness of the part to be
welded.
Table 4 - The values of current to use are shown in the
table with the respective electrodes for the welding of
common steels and low-grade alloys. These data have
no absolute value and are indicative data only. For a
precise choice follow the instructions provided by the
electrode manufacturer. The current to be used
depends on the welding positions and type of joint
and it increases according to the thickness and
dimensions of the part.
START AND FINISHING OF WELDING PROCESS TIG
(picture 3)
1.
Approaching the wolfram electrode to the
welding material.
2.
Touching the wolfram electrode and the welding
material.
3.
Removing the wolfram electrode and ignition of
welding arc with the use of LA - very low wear -
out of the wolfram electrode by touch.
4.
Welding process.
5.
Finishing of the welding process and activating
DOWN SLOPE (filling a crater) is carried out when
you remove the wolfram electrode for about 8-
10 mm from the welding material.
6.
Re-approaching - welding current is decreased for
adjusted period of time (0 up to 5 s) on adjusted
value of end current (vol. 10 A) – filling
a creater.
7.
Finishing of the welding process. The digital con-
trol switches the welding process automatically
off.

METHOD MMA
1.
Setting the welding method - with a switch (pos.
10, pic. 2) set the required method. If the switch
is in the upper position the machine is switched
on method MMA (welding by stick electrode).
2.
Switch the switch (pos. 9, pic. 2) into the upper
position for local operating (in case of no remote
control).
3.
By potentiometer (pos. 4, pic. 2) set on scale
required welding current according to the thick-
ness of material and electrode diameter (appro-
ximately table 4). While using a remote control
regulation of the welding current is car-ried out
with a potentiometer on the remote control.
Switch (pos. 9, pic. 2) must be in lower position.
4.
Thus the machine is ready for welding with met-
hod MMA.
5.
Function HOTSTART is active in position for wel-
ding with method MMA, which secures an inc-
rease of welding current at the beginning of
welding. If any welding through the thin mate-
rials occurs during arc ignition it is recommended
to switch the switch of the method into position
TIG which switches HOTSTART function off.
METHOD TIG
1.
Setting the welding method - with a switch (pos.
10, pic. 2) set the required method. If the switch
is in low position the machine is switched onto
method TIG.
2.
Switch the switch (pos. 9, pic. 2) into the upper
position for local operating (it is effective in case
of no remote control).
3.
Set the required welding current with a poten-
tiometer (pos. 4, pic. 2) according to the
thickness of material and diameter of the used
electrode (approximately table 7). While using a
remote control regulation of the welding current
is carried out with a potentiometer on the
remote control. Switch (pos. 9, pic. 2) must be in
the down position.
4.
Connect the welding torch with a gas-valve into
the minus quick coupler.
5.
Connect the gas hose of welding torch over the
pressure control valve into the bottle with ga-
seous shield.
6.
Connect the earthing cable into the plus quick
coupler.
7.
Set the required flow of gaseous shield with
a pressure control valve and the valve on the
torch.
8.
Thus the machine is ready for welding with met-
hod TIG.
