The bottom of the filter is double-threaded. It must therefore
be ensured that the bottom is not installed with the slide fac-
ing backwards. For correct installation, the closed slide should
face to the front.
For better activated carbon cartridge efficiency, it is recom-
mended to install the device at a preferably cool, but frost-
protected point along the pipe network.
Filtration using a 0.01 mm super fine filter is assumed as a
precondition for the stated separation rates and lifetimes.
The pipes upstream of the filter must be clean.

Replacement of activated carbon cartridge

• Where appropriate, close shutoff valves at gas inlet and
outlet.
• Depressurize the housing (ball valve at the bottom of the
filter).
• Undo the screw (2) of the slide (1). In the case of a sound
signal, the housing is still under pressure! Only open the
slide (2) after depressurization.
• Unscrew the bottom (3).
• Remove the old activated carbon cartridge (4) and insert
new one.
Note:
- When removing the activated carbon cartridge, the element
head may be stuck in the filter head. In such a case, use
suitable pliers to pull out the element head.
- the upper end cap of the crtridge must be installed according
to the inclination in the element seat (see drawing).
• Close the housing (3), look the slide (1) in position and screw
down.
Note:
If the housing is not easy to close, the cartridge is not seated
correctly at the bottom. Open the housing again, position the
cartridge centrally and reclose the housing.
• Slowly admit pressure to the filter by gradual opening of the
shutoff valves.
• Make a note of the date of the next element replacement
on the maintenance schedule and the label supplied with
the elements. Stick the label on a part of the filter housing
where it can easily be seen. Reorder new activated carbon
cartridge to ensure an adequate stock of spare parts.
